Soon, it will finally reopen for all to enjoy.Opened in 1926, the San Diego Museum of Art is the city's oldest and largest museum.Following a four-month pandemic shutdown, the museum is finally ready to continue educating locals, starting July 9."Every single protocol has been put in place there is a big team here working the last three months and thinking precisely how to give you the joy of the art the pleasure of being at the museum but more importantly the fact that you can feel safe here," said Roxana Velasquez, the museum's executive director.Safety precautions will be in line with temperature checks and social distancing. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is warning San Diegans about a mysterious and possibly deadly counterfeit drug being traded on the streets. The department says they believe the pills have caused four overdose deaths in San Diego County over the last 36 hours. The deaths happened in Valley Center, Santee, Poway and Lakeside. “It’s being traded and sold on the streets with the promise of a painkiller high, but no one really knows what exactly is in the drug which makes it so dangerous,” the department said. Authorities say the pills are blue with one side marked by an "M" while the other side is stamped with a "30." The department says the pills are often called "M-30s" or "blues."While the department doesn't know exactly what's in the pills, investigators say these type of pills often contain fentanyl or carfentanil.Anyone with information is urged to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- This year, the Drug Enforcement Administration is adding vaping products to the list of what they’ll accept on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The agency will be accepting prescriptions and vaping products on October 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the agency, nearly 10 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs in 2018. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that there have been 33 deaths in 24 states and nearly 1,500 lung injuries from vaping in 2019.The agency is treating the events like an outbreak, saying the best advice is to avoid using all forms of E-Cigarettes. The DEA decided to add vaping products to their drug take back event to make sure they're safely removed."If people throw them away, if people dump them down the toilet, if people store them in a drawer, they're still not safe," says DEA Special Agent in Charge Colin Roane." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The body of a 9-year-old boy swept away by a current in Rosarito on Easter Sunday has been found in Mexico.Authorities say the body of Erik Ochoa was found around 10 a.m. Thursday morning at San Antonio Del Mar.Ochoa lived in Tijuana with his stepfather while his sisters, Zusel and Hilary live in Chula Vista.RELATED: Family searches for boy swept away in Rosarito?Ochoa was with two other children walking on the beach in Rosarito when they were swept out to sea.One of the boys was able to make it out of the current and ran to get help.
