(KGTV) — Disneyland's "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge" expansion will host the park's most complex attraction ever — and possibly at any theme park.During Star Wars Celebration this weekend in Chicago, Disney's Imagineering team dished on "Galaxy's Edge" attractions and the creation of the land. Part of that came a few tidbits regarding the second highly-anticipated ride coming this year: "Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance."RELATED: The rides, foods, toys you'll get to enjoy at Disneyland's 'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge'"This is the biggest attraction we’ve ever built," Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, said during the presentation. "It should be epic, because, Star Wars, right? That’s why we’re going big with this attraction."A trailer teasing the attraction was played for the Chicago audience showing various scenes from "Rise of the Resistance," images Trowbridge said were captured directly from inside the attraction.“It is the biggest, it is one of the most complex attraction experiences that we or anyone else has ever built," Trowbridge said.RELATED: Disney's Star Wars land: The good, the bad — and no Fast Passes?"Rise of the Resistance" pits riders smack dab inside a First Order Star Destroyer, as they try to escape a fleet of Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren himself. Guests journey through the attraction on a trackless vehicle, meeting Rey (actress Daisy Ridley), Finn (actor John Boyega), and Poe (actor Oscar Isaac) along the way. There are even life-size recreations of Poe Dameron's X-Wing and A-Wing fighters and TIE fighters.Imagineers also revealed custom bottles of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite and Dasani coming to the "Star Wars" land, fashioned into a droid-like shape and covered in Aurebesh, a fictional language used in the film franchise. (KGTV) - Chula Vista Mayor Mary Salas outlined the city’s recent accomplishments and layed out its future goals in her fourth State of the City Address Tuesday night. Salas went over the growth and achievements San Diego County's second-largest city has seen over the last year, including neighborhood revitalization and the approval of the Bayfront Project. During the address, Salas spoke about events that drew large crowds over the last year.Salas said the city’s Fourth of July celebration in 2017 drew a crowd of 15,000 while more than 35,000 people attended HarborFest on the Bayfront.RELATED: Port of San Diego, Chula Vista moves forward with bayfront developmentThe Mayor also spoke about growth happening in Third Avenue Village citing the Lemon Fest, Taste of Third and Village Summer Nights in June. A popular topic throughout California in recent years is infrastructure. (CNN) -- Talk about a high stakes intervention.The US Coast Guard released a video on Thursday that showed exactly how one might intercept a fast-moving narco-sub on the high seas -- netting more than 17,000 pounds of cocaine in the process.The event, a video of which was released on July 11, took place on June 18 in the East Pacific Ocean. In the minute-long video, a member of the Coast Guard is heard yelling at a semi-submersible vessel tearing through the ocean -- a half underwater and half exposed vessel -- and demanding it stop.Members of the guard then jump on the submarine-like boat, eventually forcing the top open to reveal the smugglers inside.The Coast Guard only catches 11 percent of drug-filled semi-submersible vessels In the last four years, there's been an increase in drug cartels from Central and South America using these semi-submersible vessels, Lt. Commander Stephen Brickey told CNN.These vessels are relatively rare. They're expensive to build, and cartels have to build them deep in jungles to avoid detection. Once they're filled with drugs and deployed, Brickey said they're almost impossible to detect without prior intelligence or an aircraft."They blend in," he said. "Most of the vessel is underwater, so it's hard to pick out. They're painted blue. They match the water."Even if the Coast Guard does manage to catch the vessel, they have to be quick. Every vessel is built with the ability to sink and destroy the evidence within minutes, with the smugglers knowing that the Coast Guard will make sure they don't drown, Brickey said. The smugglers could also be armed.It's not easy, and the Coast Guard only stops an estimated 11 percent of the vessels that pass through the East Pacific -- an area Brickey said was about the size of the entire US.The Coast Guard, he said say, is tasked with patrolling the area with the equivalent of two police cars.And a part of of the problem is that 70 percent of Coast Guard's fleet is over 50 years old -- so they're slow and require a lot of maintenance before they can be deployed."They're not really effective enough to meet this new threat," Brickey said.The five people involved were sent to the DEA for prosecutionIn the filmed incident, the Coast Guard was able to detect the vessel with an aircraft, who relayed the information to members on the ground. Once they had an idea of where the vessel was, the guard launched two small boats to creep up on the smugglers, and were eventually able to board without detection.There were five people on the vessel, who were then turned over the US Drug Enforcement Administration for prosecution.The bust was the first time the Coast Guard used a new type of ship on a counter-drug patrol, and Brickey said the incident is a great example of what these new ships can do."These sorts of capabilities on these ships is what will make us successful in the future," he said. 2908

(CNN) -- Police in Long Beach, California, are mourning a K9 officer that died apparently of heat-related causes in a department vehicle.The dog, Ozzy, was found by its handler when both were off-duty about 3:40 p.m. on August 14, the Long Beach Police Department said in a statement."This unfortunate incident was not intentional," the statement reads. "Preliminarily, we believe this was an accident and we are taking all the necessary steps to avoid this happening in the future."The department said its K9 vehicles have "fail/safe equipment that is meant to generate an alert," but it might not have been working, the statement said. The department statement said K9 handlers are checking their heat system controllers before every shift.A veterinarian examined Ozzy. "The preliminary results determined the cause of death to be heat related," the police statement said.The high temperature that day in Long Beach was 89 degrees, National Weather Service records show.Police did not identify Ozzy's handler."Our department is mourning Ozzy's loss as we would with any of our employees. Our K9's are an indispensable part of our department, and we will continue to view them as our partners."The Humane Society says it's never safe to leave pets locked in cars."It doesn't have to be that warm outside for a car to become dangerously hot inside," the organization's website says. "When it's 80 degrees Fahrenheit outside, the temperature inside your car can heat up to 99 degrees Fahrenheit within 10 minutes." 1521
