LANZHOU, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Wednesday morning visited a rural community in Gulang County in northwestern Gansu Province, saying the happiness of the people is what the CPC pursues.
The meeting also decided to step up supervision over the quality of products and services for aged people, and sternly punish those that violate the rights and interests of the senior citizens.
Lu is posted as Chinese envoy to France in August after serving as ambassador to Canada since 2017.
The inspection groups visited 31 cities and carried out on-site inspections of 201 organizations, villages and projects.
"After I became an IOC member, I came to know more about athletes from other countries and regions. I didn't know how well we Chinese athletes are taken care of until I spoke to others," she said.
