Verizon will offer some customers a free year of Disney’s new streaming service. The telecommunications company says all of its new and existing 4G LTE and 5G unlimited wireless customers will be eligible for the free 12-month subscription to Disney+. Two people have been bitten by sharks off the coast of North Carolina in the past 14 days, and a third person was bitten by an unknown animal during that time period, officials said.On Sunday, an 8-year-old boy was bitten by an animal "believed to be a shark," according to Village Manager of Bald Head Island Chris McCall.McCall says the child suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident off Bald Head Island's South Beach.The boy had puncture wounds on his leg and was transported off the island to receive medical treatment, McCall said.McCall said authorities don't know what type of shark was involved in the attack.This is the second attack in the state in the last two weeks.A 17-year-old girl lost her left leg and two fingers on her left hand in a 780

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump's choice to fill the role of Kirstjen Nielsen as secretary of Homeland Security is a career official who served in the Obama administration and whom a senior DHS official says is "not an ideologue or fire breather" on immigration.Kevin McAleenan, who is taking over DHS in an acting capacity, was serving as the commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection before Sunday's announcement. He was confirmed as commissioner by the Senate in March 2018 by a vote of 77-19.He is expected to serve as the acting secretary "in the short term," according to a White House official. Nielsen should be staying for a week of transition, another White House official said.The senior DHS official told CNN McAleenan is "not an ideologue or fire breather" on immigration like White House senior adviser Stephen Miller or Trump. This official wondered how McAleenan will fit in as Miller has placed several political appointees in the department who follow the immigration hardliner's marching orders.Another senior DHS official said, "he's good at what he does. Every role he has had, he's improved conditions. I expect this will be the same." Walmart said on Wednesday that it is further restricting its hours while adding a one-hour-a-week "senior shopping event."Starting on March 24 through the end of April, Walmart locations will open for one hour on Tuesday mornings (6 a.m. for most locations) for seniors only.
