It is not a secret that tickets to NBA games are expensive. When that ticket gives you the opportunity to watch reigning NBA finals MVP Kawhi Leonard play, the price goes up even more. So it is understandable why many were upset that Leonard sat out on Wednesday in what was initially described for "load management." The Los Angeles Clippers ended up losing Wednesday's game 129-124 without Leonard. Following Wednesday's controversy, Clippers coach Doc Rivers was asked about Leonard's status. While he said that Leonard is healthy, the NBA claimed that Leonard has been dealing with a nagging injury. For Rivers' comments, the Clippers were fined ,000 by the league.“Following additional review of the LA Clippers not playing Kawhi Leonard in last night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, the NBA has confirmed that the team’s decision to sit Leonard for management of an injury was consistent with league rules," the NBA said in a statement. "The team has reasonably determined that Leonard is suffering from an ongoing injury to the patella tendon in his left knee and has been placed by the team at this time on an injury protocol for back-to-back games.“The NBA has fined the Clippers ,000 for statements, including by head coach Doc Rivers, that were inconsistent with Leonard’s health status.”In July, Leonard signed a 3-year, 3 million contract with the Clippers. Despite the NBA's determination that the Clippers were managing a lingering injury, fans were frustrated that Leonard was unable to perform. Imagine paying for a ticket weeks ago/months ago to see the Bucks vs Clippers only to find out the day of the game that Kawhi isn’t playing ??? Lauren Mulvihill did not know what to expect when she was called to the hospital for an Uber pick up.89-year-old Ronald Dembner had just been discharged from the hospital with no one to take him home.Last week, Mulvihill drove Dembner from the hospital in Henry County, Georgia, to his home and helped him inside. When she saw the terrible condition of his home, she knew she needed to help.Dembner, who Mulvihill calls Mr. Ronald, is a widower and veteran who now lives alone with his dog King. He has no living family. Mulvihill said that Dembner had not called someone to help clean his house out of fear they would take it away from him.The veteran has been living in squalor. Dembner has his wits about him, but he has a hard time getting around, cleaning the house and picking up after his dog.Mulvihill knew she couldn't clean up the house herself. That's when the single mom went to Facebook to call for help. The response was overwhelming.Dozens of volunteers came forward and began to clean and help strip apart the house. In just a week's time, they have already removed all of the garbage, the old furniture and the old carpet. The next step is painting the walls and putting in new floor. They're also trying to get someone to come fix the mold situation, Mulvihill says the work can be at lot at times but she tries to work one room at a time. The public Facebook group, 1395

In Fort Collins, Colorado, there’s a place where athletes train seven days a week. The gym, run by Ryan Schultz, is called Trials Mixed Martial Arts and it’s not an ordinary gym.“This gym isn’t for your average person,” Schultz says “You’re going to be pushed here. You’re going to be tested. Overall, I think this place is for everybody. I think you just have to have the right mind set.” This gym is opened to athletes, and Schultz said that includes everyone. “If you’re an adaptive athlete, for example someone who had their leg removed, we have stuff for you as well here,” Schultz says. “But our mentality here is that there’s no laying down in life. Life doesn’t wait for anybody. I think that when people get a disease, or some sort of diagnosis it’s overwhelming for them and they tend to shut down. That’s more of the time to keep moving forward.” Schultz has multiple programs running through his gym. One of the programs was started by him and his friend Glenn Beach.“I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease five years ago,” Beach says. “And I’ve been training with Ryan to help treat it.” “Glenn brought to me the Rock Steady Program,” Schultz says. “I like Rock Steady, because they have research that proves this type of program works.”Rock Steady uses boxing to help those fighting Parkinson’s. Beach says this program changed his life. “I’ve had, I would say, a 100 percent improvement,” Beach says. “I had no control over my left hand. Now, I only have a subtle tremor every once in a while. It’s so much more manageable now, and a lot of it has to do with the training I got through Rock Steady.” The course is offered three times a week, and the workouts take about one hour. Beach says that the class does progress assessments every six to 12 months. According to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, it's estimated 1 million people in the United States are diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The foundation reports more than 60,000 people are diagnosed each year. 1999

Inside the Cocoa Beach, Florida restaurant Bacon and Blues, the music playing may be the blues, but the people are trying to remain upbeat and prepared. "Luckily, we have hurricane shutters; we've made a lot of ice," says owner Darci Kropp. She doesn't plan to close just yet. "We're kind of winging it,” Kropp says. "As long as we have employees here to work, we will work."Labor Day is usually a big day for business for this eatery. In fact, Kropp says this day last year was one of their best days. However, this year, Hurricane Dorian's threat is impacting business in this coastal beach town."It's a ghost town around here," Kropp describes. For the most part, only locals like Ken Holmes are still in Cocoa Beach. Depending on the forecast, even Holmes may leave to go to Tampa, but he is still holding on to hope. "We've never had a direct hit,” he says. “We've had a lot of close calls.”Kropp doesn't know what the storm will do to her restaurant in the coming days."We're just going to see how we make it and what's damaged," she says. "If we have power, how we hold up."Until then, the music and coffee will flow as long as it can. 1154
