(KGTV) - A North County lawyer, once charged with possessing child pornography and secretly filming women at a local tanning salon, is allowed to practice law again.A woman who contacted Team 10 said several North County residents are concerned he could be back in the community working as an attorney. David Kaye faced two felonies and nine misdemeanors in early 2011. Investigators say he filmed women without their knowledge at an Escondido tanning salon. After a customer saw the recording device, police set up a sting operation and Kaye was arrested after an investigation that lasted several months.Kaye entered a plea deal and pleaded guilty to two counts of secretly filming a person and two counts of peeking through a hole or private area. He received three years of formal probation. His law license was suspended in 2014.In the last few months, he got his license back. In documents filed with the state bar court, it said Kaye petitioned five times for his suspension to be lifted. It cited a list of community service and other charitable work with no further arrests. When questioned about his license being reinstated, Kaye wrote to Team 10: “… I don’t practice at all and I am retired with no intention of practicing again.” He said he fought to get his law license reinstated because he “did not want to spend the rest of [his] life wearing the scarlet letter of being a suspended or disbarred attorney after 20 years of practice.” He added that he did everything he could to “follow the state bar requirements to resume [his] status as an attorney in good standing.” Kaye said he wants to move on with his life and spends most of his free time doing volunteer work. (CNN) -- Godspeed!A historic cathedral in England has installed a giant indoor fairground slide, supposedly so that visitors can see its roof up close.The 50-foot-high ride, known in Britain as a helter-skelter, was unveiled on Thursday at Norwich Cathedral in eastern England and will be open to the public to enjoy for 10 days.The church, completed in 1145, insists the initiative is no gimmick -- in fact, a clergyman says the idea came to him while he was visiting the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican."I had the slightly risky thought of, 'I know this is amazing, but actually the ceiling at Norwich Cathedral is every bit as wonderful,'" Reverend Canon Andy Bryant told the Press Association news agency."We have one of the greatest collections of medieval roof bosses anywhere in northern Europe. The trouble is they are so high up that most people never get a chance to really appreciate them.""And so was born the idea -- could we get people up higher to these roof bosses and so appreciate that they are exquisite art as they are the most beautiful pieces of stone carving but also the story that's captured within them, which is the story of the Bible."The installation, set up in front of a large stained glass window, is part of a program called "Seeing It Differently."It follows a similar move by Rochester Cathedral, which unveiled a mini golf course in its central area last month -- and comes as churches across the UK struggle to stem a decline in attendance.In a post on the cathedral's website, Bryant admitted that the idea could prove controversial with churchgoers."I get why for some the image of a giant helter-skelter sitting in this great Nave feels slightly shocking," he wrote. (KGTV) - A nun died in court Friday during a proceeding related to the legal battle against the Los Angeles Archdiocese and singer Katy Perry.Sister Catherine Rosse Holzman, 89, died in court during the proceeding related to the sale of a Los Feliz property, according to ABC-affiliate KABC.Holzman was part of an order of nuns known as The Sisters of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The order owned a hilltop property that used to be a convent but sold it in 2015 to entrepreneur Dana Hollister.RELATED: Judge rules in Katy Perry's favor in land dispute case with conventThe Archdiocese intervened, however, saying the offer was void because the order did not get the sale approved by the Archdiocese or Pope Francis. This led to the court battle over whether Hollister, who offered million for the property, was a suitable buyer as opposed to Perry, who offered .5 million.Perry's offer has the approval of Los Angeles' archbishop but has yet to gain approval by the Vatican.A judge ruled in favor of Perry in 2016, saying the archdiocese has to first authorize any sale, and the nuns didn't have his permission before entering into the agreement with Hollister. 1260
