BOCA RATON, Fla. — New developments in the investigation into a Boca Raton pet store where authorities say a dead puppy and several sick puppies were found late last year. The owner of Poochie Couture was arrested on Tuesday and is facing multiple animal cruelty charges.Marc Rosenbluth, 37, has since bonded out of jail.Last November, dozens of puppies were removed from Poochie Couture by Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, and the pet store was shut down.Rosenbluth surrendered some of the dogs after Boca Raton Police and Animal Care and Control said they found a dead 3-month-old puppy, along with several other sick animals."Had we not gotten there with Boca P.D., most likely the death toll would have much higher," said Dianne Sauve, the director of Palm Beach County Animal Care and ControlSauve said closing the pet store is a victory.Records show that of the 58 dogs inside the shop, investigators found the dead puppy and six french bulldogs that were sick with multiple problems. Two of them needed intensive care.Rosenbluth's arrest report said Poochie Couture lacked prevention of injury and did not assist with ongoing veterinary care."It is a shame some animals had to die in a result of this," said Kelly Evans, who called police in November, claiming Rosenbluth and his wife were not taking care of their puppies. "I am glad he is arrested now and there is some justice for the animals."Sauve said ACC likes to tell people to always adopt and don't shop. But with six pet stores open in the county, she said people will still shop.Sauve said that asking for records is key if an animal gets sick after it's been purchased."Look at the health certificates, review the medical records," Sauve said. This article was written by Miranda Christian for WPTV. 1785

BEVERLY HILLS (KGTV) -- A massive plot of land dubbed "The Mountain" is on the market for a record billion in Beverly Hills. The rare, 157-acre plot is perched atop the highest point in the 90210 zip code and listed for the first time in history. For a better visual of 157-acres - the listing agent says the compound could fit all of Disneyland Park and still have 57 acres to spare. “This is the only opportunity to own your own mountain that looks down at all of Los Angeles," says Aaron Kirman, President of Pacific Union International, Estates Division. "Our likely buyer for this property is an individual who wants to build his or her own compound."Owning the property has its advantages. The first being the views of Downtown Los Angeles, Orange County, Catalina Island and Santa Monica. All while living minutes away from the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel and Rodeo Drive. In the property's description, the listing agent writes, "the owner can build a soccer field, amphitheater, helipad, and a polo field side by side and still have lunch at the Beverly Hills hotel within five minutes." And the views aren't going anywhere, because the property is at an elevation that no neighboring trees obstruct.Property Stats: 1280
BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- A U.S. judge says the IRS can't keep withholding coronavirus relief payments from incarcerated people, potentially clearing the way for at least 80,000 checks totaling more than 0 million to be sent to people behind bars in the United States. The ruling gives the IRS until Oct. 24 to reconsider the payments for those who were denied or had their money intercepted solely because of their incarceration. But for incarcerated people who didn't file a tax return in 2018 or 2019, another deadline is looming -- they have until Oct. 15 to apply for the checks. The IRS and Treasury Department have not yet decided whether to pursue an appeal. 669
Both the COVID-19 pandemic and conversations about race happening now are shining a light on mental health. One in five adults experience mental illness each year. Only one in three Black adults who need mental health care are getting it.The reasons range from socioeconomic disparities, like access to health insurance, to the stigma in the Black community around getting this care.Another issue, the latest numbers from the American Psychological Association show 4% of psychologists in the U.S. are Black.“You know, I think a lot of these guys, they've been going to the same barber since they were 5 years old or maybe only went to a couple of barbers in their whole life and so it's their relationship,” said Lorenzo Lewis, founder of The Confess Project, which trains barbers to become mental health advocates. That training includes learning active listening, positive communication, validation and stigma reduction.Lewis says the barbershop is a good place for this because it's really the only place in the Black community, besides the church, where everyone from all socioeconomic backgrounds come. And they visit more frequently than they would their own doctor. He says he recognized the need for mental health help among black men, but saw it wasn't accessible to them.He is hearing conversations in barbershops change especially now with the issues the Black community is facing.“I think, if nothing else, it is more of a preparation conversation around life success and what in which we know when individuals are successful in life, career, health and their relationships, that they will have a quality mental health,” said Lewis. The mental health training for barbers is being offered in some cities in person, or you can take the virtual course.
