CLAY COUNTY, Tennessee — Three people were shot Monday morning at a residence in Clay County, Tennessee, where a school bus driver pulled up to the scene and provided aid.The incident was reported at a home on Crabtree Creek Road and North Fork Road in Whitleyville. A school bus driver called 9-1-1 after he or she pulled up to a stop and realized there had been an incident in the home. Initial reports indicated that the shooting happened on a school bus. However, Clay County School officials confirmed the incident did not happen on the bus. The bus driver gave aid to at least one person in the home.  At least two of the victims were airlifted to Nashville for treatment. CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — An Indiana man has been charged with murder after he allegedly killed and decapitated his wife.Police arrested Michael Parks of Crawfordsville on Friday after investigators found his wife's body and severed head, according to court documents filed Monday.On Aug. 20, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office received a report of a deceased woman, identified as Hope Parks, whose headless body was found on County Road 225 on the Sugar Creek Bridge.Michael Parks told Crawfordsville police his wife had been missing since Aug. 18 following an argument. He said the last time he saw her was when she left their house and got into a silver or white Honda that was driven by an unknown person.During a search of the couple's house, police found dried blood in the gravel driveway in front of an overhead garage door, on the garage floor with a shoe print and on an exterior deck. Officers also discovered a trail of dried blood in the grass.Later in the day, investigators found a human head with a bullet wound buried in the cellar of the house.Police also found a .22 caliber rifle and ammunition, which matched a spent .22 caliber cartridge casing that was found in the yard next to a trail of blood. A phone believed to have belonged to Hope Parks was found in a safe in the home's bedroom. Investigators also found a man's shoe with tread similar to the footprint in the blood droppings in the garage.The next day, investigators discovered a blue tarp that was stained with blood, along with hair and plastic bags containing blood-covered rags that were found in the hole where the severed head was buried.An initial hearing for Michael Parks was held Tuesday. Conditions on a breeder's property during an animal rescue operation near Nashville were so toxic that the leader of the rescue team nearly died from ammonia poisoning.Scotlund Haisley, the founder of Animal Rescue Corps, led a team along with sheriff's deputies to the home of a breeder. It was called Operation Noah's Ark.They rescued 150 animals from horrible conditions - conditions that were so bad, Haisley was poisoned by fumes and needed a blood transfusion to survive.Haisley wasn't feeling well, but he was still up and around two days later giving a tour of the shelter."This is what it takes to care for 150 animals. All of these volunteers," said Haisley pointing to his team.Moments later, he became violently sick.ARC has made hundreds of rescues over the years, almost all of them are in deplorable conditions.Yet, this one was in many ways the worst and most dangerous. Inside the structures, Haisley found an unbelievable amount of feces and urine, which produced the highest ammonia levels he'd ever encountered. He still went in."The animals were in there. They were suffering greatly. We had to get them out," said Haisley.Free from that toxic environment, the animals immediately began getting better, but Haisley got worse."Extreme nausea, couldn't hold food or beverages down and very exhausted," Haisley said describing his symptoms.Haisley talked to us later by phone after his release from the hospital for what turned out to be acute ammonia poisoning which required a massive blood transfusion. Doctors told him he nearly died."I've experienced ammonia before. This is a whole new experience for me," said Haisley.However, it won't change his mission. The experience made Haisley even more determined to rescue animals.He now knows, more than ever, that no living creature should ever live in such conditions.Experts say the toxic fumes found at some deplorable sites where animals are rescued can be comparable with those found at a meth lab.Haisley says crews often will wear oxygen masks, but now for extreme cases, they are looking to buy some protective full-body suits. 2187
