TUCSON, Arizona — An Arizona high school principal admitted on Facebook he changed the grades of seniors at the school, but claims his supervisor directed him to take that action. The Tucson Unified School District Governing Board of Pueblo High School in Arizona have voted to release a district report on the incident that has been kept confidential.The board released the following report:         The governing board is set to vote Wednesday, March 28 on whether to release a portion of the report by the law firm hired by the district.Pueblo High School principal Auggie Romero has come under fire in recent years over a grade changing scandal.  He's been on the hot seat after a teacher came forward to E.W. Scripps television station KGUN in Tucson — that Romero changed several seniors grades without her consent — a violation of state law. And she provided proof — her grade sheets."This is something that has never happened before in my 31 years as a teacher," said Yolanda Sotelo in 2016. Romeo even admitted on Facebook he changed the grades, but claimed his supervisor, Abel Morado, directed him to take that action. KGUN obtained a scathing memo written by Morado, who stated that wasn't the case. He stated that he had reminded Romero he needed to get the teacher to change grades and Romero's "failure to comply with the very simple directive caused all of the controversy." The memo also reveals the Deconcini law firm investigated the allegations and found Romero "did change the student's grades." KGUN requested the document through a public records request, but the district declined citing attorney-client privilege. Now the board is voting on whether to release the findings "concerning potential violations of the law: improper grade-changing, improper promotion, and discrimination.  1961

UPDATE SATURDAY, JUNE 26 - 7:50 A.M.ESCONDIDO POLICE WATCH COMMANDER TOLD ABC 10NEWS THE MISSING WOMAN WAS FOUND FRIDAY IN ESCONDIDO AND "WAS OK."---SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County sheriff’s officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman who disappeared after a trip to Pala Casino.According to sheriff’s officials, someone contacted deputies at the department’s San Marcos station just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday to report Katelyn Schwindt missing.The person who contacted deputies said the 27-year-old Schwindt posted a message on her Facebook page that indicated she was at Pala Casino on the evening of June 24. In the same message, Schwindt wrote that she was possibly drugged and assaulted.ABC 10News spoke with Schwindt's friend, Krystle Hudnell. When Hudnell saw the Facebook posts, she said there were too many typos for it to be a joke.Some parts of it read:"I DONT KNOW WHAT HAS HAPPE D I HAVE BEEN ASSULTED AND I AM LOST AND SCARED…""PLEASEV IM INNEDD OF HELP BAD IM INJURED I THINK IM BEING KID NAPPED…""As soon as I saw her post, it didn't seem like her, and it just seemed really scary," Hudnell said.Officials said deputies and detectives from the San Marcos station investigated but were unable to find her.Schwindt is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and has brown hair and brown eyes. UPDATE: 9:15 P.M.A man has been taken into custody after an hours-long standoff with officers at a Hillcrest rehabilitation center.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police Department officers are surrounding a Hillcrest neighborhood Saturday working to peacefully end a standoff with a person believed to be armed.According to SDPD's official Twitter page, the incident started around 4 p.m. after receiving reports about a man with a gun in the 4000 block of Sixth Avenue, east of Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego.Police told 10News that around 4 p.m., an employee of the Hillcrest Health and Rehabilitation Center found a homeless man showering in a facility bathroom-laundry room.The man barricaded himself in the bathroom and has refused to speak with police. He has also vandalized the room using a fire extinguisher.The room is isolated away from the rest of the rehabilitation center, so patients there have not been evacuated but are being told to shelter in place.Police have called on the department's Emergency Negotiating Team and a SWAT team to assist with the incident. 1087
