BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- China on Tuesday vowed to enhance coordination with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to continuously push forward the reform of the global economic and financial systems. "Currently the world economy is recovering slowly, but the outlook still remains uncertain," Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said while meeting with visiting IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn in Beijing.To completely get over the global financial crisis and realize sustainable development requires the international community to follow a path for mutual benefits and common development, face up to what caused the financial crisis and step up reform of the global economic and financial systems, he added.Praising China's counter measures against the crisis as "correct", Strauss-Kahn said the IMF values China's position and role and would like to build closer ties with the country.He called on countries to help one another to consolidate the growth momentum of the world economy.In an earlier meeting with Strauss-Kahn, Vice Premier Wang Qishan urged timely adjustments to global economic rules and standards to keep pace with the development of the global economy."The developing countries and emerging economies should have more say in the process," he added.He said the international community should work closely to ensure a success of the upcoming G20 Seoul Summit.In response, Strauss-Kahn said the IMF would continue to strengthen cooperation with China and increase the country's representation and voice in the organization.

BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Vice Premier Li Keqiang has said China would advance practical cooperation with the European Union (EU) in all areas.Li made the remarks Friday when meeting with a delegation from the European People's Party and European Democrats (EPP-ED), which is the largest group in the European Parliament.China hopes the two sides work together to expand common interests, respect each other's core interests and major concerns, so as to promote the China-EU relationship in a maturer and more steady way, Li said during the meeting.Since the two sides forged diplomatic ties 35 years ago, China and the EU had scored leap-forward development in bilateral relationship, which was exerting more and more influence to the world peace and development, Li said.Noting inter-party contacts constitute an important part of China-EU relations, Li, also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said the CPC is willing to deepen dialogue and exchanges with the EPP-ED.Joseph Daul, chairman of the EPP-ED and also head of the delegation, said he is willing to cement inter-party exchanges with the CPC and push forward the EU-China relations.

ATHENS, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived here Saturday, kicking off his three-day official visit to Greece.The Greece visit, the first stop of Wen's four-nation Europe tour, is the first by a Chinese premier in 24 years.During his stay, Premier Wen is due to meet Greek President Karolos Papoulias and Parliament Speaker Philippos Petsalnikos and hold talks with Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou before witnessing the signing of a series of deals. Wen will also deliver a speech in the Greek parliament on China-Greece and China-EU relations."Coping with the financial crisis will be an important topic for talks between Wen and Greek leaders. We have a positive attitude about the measures taken by the European Union and the International Monetary Fund," Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying said earlier on Wen's Greece visit.
