BEIJING, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- China and France expect to sign a number of cooperative documents in civilian nuclear energy and aviation, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying said here Thursday.Fu made the remarks at a news briefing on Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to France and Portugal from November 4 to 11.China and France have conducted fruitful cooperation in civilian nuclear energy and aviation, Fu said, citing the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station in south China's Guangdong Province and the Airbus 320 Final Assembly Line in Tianjin.China holds a positive attitude to expanding nuclear and aviation cooperation with France, she said, adding the two sides were discussing how to broaden cooperation in these fields.In reply to a question on whether the nationwide strike in France will affect Hu's visit, Fu said the situation in France would not affect the arranged schedule of the president.Hu's visit to France and Portugal came in the context of the still unstable world economic recovery and the upcoming Group of 20 (G20) Summit in Seoul, Fu said.She said Hu's visit to the two countries was viewed as very significant for promoting friendly relations with the two nations and overall China-EU relations.During his stay in France, Hu will hold talks with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and meet with Prime Minister Francois Fillon and other French leaders.

BRUSSELS, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- China expected France to take new steps in pushing the European Union (EU) for positive policies toward China, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said on Monday.The relations between China and France were of important influence to China's links with the EU, said Wen during a meeting with French President Nicolas Sarkozy on the sidelines of an Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit in Brussels.China attached great importance to developing ties with France and appreciated France's willingness to enhance cooperation with China, said Wen. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao (L) meets with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Brussels, Belgium, Oct. 4, 2010. BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) leader Zhou Yongkang said here Monday the Chinese government hopes to increase security and law enforcement cooperation with Cuba."We should work together to jointly safeguard the two nations' security and interests," Zhou, Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said when meeting with Cuban Interior Minister Abelardo Colome Ibarra.Hailing the traditional friendship between China and Cuba, Zhou spoke highly of Cuba's efforts to cope with the international financial crisis and natural disasters.He also applauded Cuba's achievements in social and economic progress.Colome, also vice president of the Council of State of Cuba, said he was encouraged by China's achievements and his country will firmly support China in issues concerning its core interests.
