The NFL will consult an advisory committee made up of former coaches, general managers, and players on such issues as postponing, moving, or even canceling games this season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Troy Vincent, the league's football operations chief, said that the advisers, who will report to Commissioner Roger Goodell, will help avoid any "inequities" in those decisions. Vincent did not identify any members of the panel, saying he was awaiting their approval to do so. The man suspected of sending 14 pipe bombs to prominent Democrats around the country will be formally charged in court Monday.Cesar Sayoc, 56, of Aventura, Florida, is facing federal charges and could receive up to 48 years in prison if convicted.As of Friday, authorities had intercepted 14 packages Sayoc sent through the US mail system, officials said. None of the devices detonated, and no one was injured. Another package that appears identical to the others was sent to CNN's worldwide headquarters in Atlanta, but it was intercepted Monday at an off-site screening facility.Among his alleged targets were former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former US Attorney General Eric Holder, California Senator Kamala Harris, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker and California Rep. The mother of a Florida child who was punched in the face by an adult is wondering why the man was not arrested. “He was screaming at us, cursing at us, calling us the 'n-word' and he came down to the middle of his yard, and I was like 'who are you talking too,' and he said 'come within arm's reach and I'll show you who I'm talking to,'" said Malikai Villatte, the 12-year-old boy who was punched.  A picture of Malikai after the incident showed his two front teeth were knocked out. The young boy also received stitches to heal a gash on his mouth. “When I realized my teeth were dangling in my mouth it was kind of shocking, I didn't know what was going on," Malikai said. “It was like a nightmare, I just knew I had to get there and I had to get there fast," said Malikai's mother Brittany Graham. His parents are upset because the man who punched Malikai was not arrested. Lataevion Graham, 13, says he witnessed the incident and claims Cerfalo spat on them after punching Malikai. Graham's father says he wants justice for the children. “Where it is okay for an adult to take the law into their own hands, and to strike a kid hard enough to knock out his teeth. Where is that acceptable, in what country is that acceptable?" said Larry Graham. According to a Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the man who punched Malikai was 27-year-old Vincent Cerfalo.“Originally this is where the altercation took place, right here," Cerfalo said.“I told them to back off and if they come on my property I'm going to defend myself. They said, 'you won't hit us, you won't hit us,' and they started to surround me," said Cerfalo. He says it all started when he yelled at the kids to get out of the road because they were blocking traffic.A cellphone video captured the moments after Malikai was punched. Cerfalo claims he was acting in self defense.“He touched me and I lifted my hand out, and I ended up hitting him. It was not my intention to hit anybody that hard, it was not my intention to knock teeth out or do harm, or cause any kind of trouble,” Cerfalo said.The children say no one touched Cerfalo at any time during the incident. Cerfalo says he never expected things to escalate to violence. He now plans to press charges against 12-year-old Malikai for assault, which the child’s parents can’t understand. “He's not going to jail, nothing is happening to him and he's basically getting away with it right now," Malikai said.“I want the man in jail," said Brittany Graham.  The case has been sent to the state attorney’s office, which will determine if a summons will be issued to Malikai for assault.  2750

The housing market has been strong in 2020, but as we head into 2021, it seems the market will continue to buck all home buying and selling trends.“It used to be true the home buying season was spring or summer when kids are out of school,” says Daryl Fairweather, chief economist for Redfin. “The pandemic has changed all that.”It's her job to study the market, follow migration patterns, and make sure both agents and customers are informed.“I predict that the early winter -- January, February -- is going to be an unusually busy home buying and selling season,” Fairweather says.Fairweather said people can move anytime and they're eager to get it over with when they've made the decision to relocate.“People want to move to places that really fit their preferences whether it's a beach town or a lake town or to be closer to their family, people are moving to places that they really want to live in, not just places that are close to the office,” Fairweather said.Jordan Thomas bought a home while the market has been hot.“It's a very quick process, buying was extremely competitive,” Thomas said.Thomas said she was among the many who decided the time to buy is now.“Because the interest rates were so great, I was able to get a really great deal on a larger home for myself,” Thomas said.She was the first to put in an offer on her Houston-area home. Six more offers followed that same day.“Because I was the first to put in the offer and I was aggressive with what I put forth, the first time around was the reason why I ended up getting the home,” Thomas said.And true to Fairweather's prediction about what people want in a home, Thomas was ready to renovate.
