(CNN) -- German police suspect a landscape gardener is responsible for killing one man and injuring two other people from beyond the grave.Bernhard Graumann, 59, was found dead from unknown causes at his home in Mehlingen in western Germany on Friday.Earlier that day, a 64-year-old doctor was killed by an explosion that appeared to come from a booby trap laid outside his practice in Enkenbach-Alsenborn, local police said in a statement.The doctor, who has not yet been named, is thought to have triggered the explosive when he bent down to pick it up, police said.Two days later, a mother and daughter were injured when a log that appeared to have been tampered with exploded in a wood-burning stove in Otterberg, less than six miles away. The younger woman, who has not been named, remains in hospital -- her condition is not thought to be critical.Western Palatinate Police have linked both cases to Graumann, who is said to have had a "bad relationship" with the victims, having been involved in disputes with them in the past. The gardener's death is currently under investigation, pending the results of an autopsy.When officers searched Graumann's home they discovered gunpowder and "other items subject to the weapons law and the Explosives Act," police statements said.Police also took the unusual step of warning other members of the public who may previously have fallen out with Graumann -- whether in a personal or business capacity -- to be on their guard."The police cannot rule out that prior to his death, the deceased had made preparations that could endanger other people's life and limbs," a statement said. "In particular, people who have had a problematic private or business relationship with Graumann are urged to contact the police immediately."A phone line set up for concerned members of the public has received dozens of calls, according to the force. 1890

(KGTV) -- California is preparing for President Trump's visit to the border fence Friday as threats of closing the border appear to have cooled. The visit comes as the President backed off threats to close the US-Mexico border in the near future, but threatened to slap tariffs on automobiles made in Mexico. Tensions at the border reached a boiling point in November of 2018, when Trump said it was a "good time for a government shutdown if he didn't receive funding for the border wall. "I think probably, if I was ever going to do a shutdown over border security, when you look at the caravans, when you look at the mess, when you look at the people coming in, this would be a very good time to do a shutdown," Trump said. (KGTV) – Federal investigators are continuing to look into the backgrounds and motives of the El Paso and Dayton shooting suspects to determine if the shootings were instances of hate crime that may have been inspired by the Poway synagogue shooting.<br /><br />The El Paso shooter was taken into custody after killing at least 20 at a Walmart store on Aug. 3. Investigators said the 21-year-old suspect pulled the trigger just 20 minutes after posting a racist manifesto.<br /> <br />Hours later, police in Dayton shot and killed a man who opened fire at a downtown entertainment district. Multiple people, including the gunman’s sister, died at the hands of the gunman.<br /> <br />Sociologist Dr. Pete Simi studies political extremism and violence at Chapman University. This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas."<br /><br />Earlier this year, the suspect in the Poway synagogue shooting shared a similar message on 8chan in which he also praised the work of the New Zealand mosque shooter.<br /><br />"In some cases, they talk about is how you could've been more active, or you could've killed more people if they had done X-Y-Z," Simi said. "Or they're discussing the relative merits of this type of violence and pros and cons. It's really a cesspool environment."<br /><br />At this point, the Dayton suspect's motive has not been confirmed. But he too is a young, lone-acting shooter who wore body armor. FBI investigators are now digging into his digital background to find answers.<br /><br />"What may connect them though is there may be some kind of copycat aspect to it," Simi said.<br /><br />In light of the mass shootings, Frederick Brennan, the founder of 8chan, demanded the site be shut down.<br /><br />He said he created the website in 2013 as a free speech forum, but relinquished ownership in 2015. 2826

(KGTV) -- Billions of dollars could be at stake with Proposition 15.If passed, it would tax some commercial properties based on current market value instead of when it was bought. It could potentially bring in anywhere between .5 to .5 billion in new funding to local schools and governments, according to the Legislative Analyst’s Office.Brandon Foster is a small business owner in Oceanside. Even though he rents the space where his two gift shops are located, he is against Prop. 15.“We already have been told by our landlords, if that passes, they will be passing on that cost to us,” Foster said. “The landlords, a lot of them, have vacancies and things like that where they are struggling themselves. I understand why they need to pass that cost onto us.”The ad for No on Prop. 15 highlights a small business owner who said he had to close twice during the pandemic. The ad said Proposition 15 would raise “property taxes and rents on small business and they admit homeowners are next.”The change in property tax assessment would apply only to commercial or industrial properties valued at more than million. It would tax those properties at current market value rather than when it was bought.Residential and agricultural properties are not affected under Prop. 15.“They are very emotional, as ads are supposed to be,” said Lynn Reaser, chief economist at Pt. According to Circulate San Diego, 1,992 people were injured, and 101 people were killed in 2018 while walking and biking on roads throughout San Diego County. While the report paints a grim picture of the problem, it also includes solutions. Some strategies to prevent crashes include reducing speed limits, redesigning streets to make them more accessible, raising awareness and enhancing data-driven traffic enforcement. Cities included in the report include Carlsbad, Del Mar, Oceanside, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Poway, Escondido, Vista and San Marcos.
