HBO is green-lighting a new “Game of Thrones” prequel after reportedly canceling another that starred Naomi Watts.The cable channel said Tuesday that it’s given a 10-episode order to “House of the Dragon,” set 300 years before the original series that ended its eight-season run in May.The prequel is based on George R.R. HOWELL, Mich. — A breastfeeding mother is speaking out after she was denied entry into the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit for the Ariana Grande concert because she had her breast pump with her. The Michigan mothers says the venue ultimately did right by her but it wasn't until after the concert. She hopes other businesses will educate themselves so other mothers won't have the same experience. “I had called before the Ariana Grande concert to make sure that my breast pump would be able to be brought into the facility," Kate Aulette said. "‘Absolutely, it’s a medical device. You’ll have no problems bringing it in.’"But that turned out not to be the case after the 2017 bombing attack at one of Grande's concerts in Manchester, England. Twenty-two people were killed and more than 100 people were injured. “The gentleman had said, ‘No. We’re not going to allow you to bring that in. You would need to have your baby with you if you wanted to bring that device in,’ " Aulette said. "So that really threw me off because that was the whole reason I was bringing my pump is because I wasn’t bringing my daughter with me to the concert.”Aulette said she returned to the bus that drove her to the concert from Howell, Michigan, and pumped her milk. For the first time, an object in our solar system has been found more than 100 times farther than Earth is from the sun.The International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center announced the discovery Monday, calling the object 2018 VG18. But the researchers who found it are calling it "Farout."They believe the spherical object is a dwarf planet more than 310 miles in diameter, with a pinkish hue. That color has been associated with objects that are rich in ice, and given its distance from the sun, that isn't hard to believe. Its slow orbit probably takes more than 1,000 years to make one trip around the sun, the researchers said.The distance between the Earth and the sun is an AU, or astronomical unit -- the equivalent of about 93 million miles. Farout is 120 AU from the sun. Eris, the next most distant object known, is 96 AU from the sun. For reference, Pluto is 34 AU away.The object was found by the Carnegie Institution for Science's Scott S. Sheppard, the University of Hawaii's David Tholen and Northern Arizona University's Chad Trujillo -- and it's not their first discovery.The team has been searching for a super-Earth-size planet on the edge of our solar system, known as Planet Nine or Planet X, since 2014. They first suggested the existence of this possible planet in 2014 after finding "Biden" at 84 AU. Along the way, they have discovered more distant solar system objects suggesting that the gravity of something massive is influencing their orbit.Farout was found using the Japanese Subaru 8-meter telescope on Hawaii's Mauna Kea in November. Follow-up observations with Carnegie's Las Campanas Observatory's Magellan telescope in Chile determined its path, brightness and color."This discovery is truly an international achievement in research using telescopes located in Hawaii and Chile, operated by Japan, as well as by a consortium of research institutions and universities in the United States," Trujillo said in a statement. "With new wide-field digital cameras on some of the world's largest telescopes, we are finally exploring our Solar System's fringes, far beyond Pluto."In October, the team announced the discovery of "the Goblin" at 80 AU; it's so named because the distant solar system object was first spotted near Halloween.It's unlikely that these objects are influenced by the gravity of gas giants Neptune and Uranus because they never get close enough to them -- which indicates that something else is determining their orbits.Farout's orbit is yet to be determined."2018 VG18 is much more distant and slower moving than any other observed Solar System object, so it will take a few years to fully determine its orbit," Sheppard said in a statement. "But it was found in a similar location on the sky to the other known extreme Solar System objects, suggesting it might have the same type of orbit that most of them do. The orbital similarities shown by many of the known small, distant Solar System bodies was the catalyst for our original assertion that there is a distant, massive planet at several hundred AU shepherding these smaller objects." 3114

However, the flu shot effectiveness has been a question in previous years. Now, a group of a researchers are working on a vaccine that works better and longer. For the last five and a half years, Amy Aspelund has literally been living with the flu virus. She’s part of a group of researchers at Vivaldi Biosciences’ laboratory who are growing the flu virus and then killing it. Their search for a universal flu vaccine has already shown increased protection in ferrets."So, this is a very promising technology,” says Aspelund. “We just have to get it into humans; find out if that translates into people."According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, getting the flu shot reduces the risk of illness by 40 to 60 percent. However, that's only when scientist accurately predict which strains will affect people most. Over the last 15 flu seasons, it's only been a good match on average of about 44 percent. Last year about 40 million people got the flu, and the CDC estimates at least 36,000 people died from flu-related illnesses.In 2009, the H1N1 virus caused the first global influenza pandemic in more than 40 years.“Yeah, I think that is a big part of it.” Aspelund says. “The seasonal is certainly an issue and a problem. We have plenty of loss of life and health.”It's why companies like Vivaldi Biosciences, Inc. and more than a dozen others are on the quest for a vaccine with broader protection.
