WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - For better or worse.Attorneys in South Florida say that during the COVID-19 pandemic, more couples are requesting prenuptial agreements.For Amanda Locker, her wedding day felt like a fairy tale."Was only thinking marriage, kids, and being married forever," Locker said.10 years after tying the knot..."Two beautiful children, but our lives did change. Could I imagine being married today to the same gentleman? Absolutely not," Locker said.Now the former stay-at-home mom imagines if she would have had a prenuptial agreement."I think I would want to sign one to protect myself," Locker said.According to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, 60% of family law attorneys surveyed reported an overall rise in prenuptial agreements in recent years."There’s been a lot of postnuptial agreements, prenuptial agreements," attorney Abigail Bebe said.WPTV called six local attorneys and five of them said during the pandemic they’ve seen an increase of prenuptial agreements. Bebe said you should start the process at least three months before the wedding."It’s really the ideal time to make plans so when it comes to that if it ever does, there are really fewer things to fight about," Bebe said.Licensed clinical social worker and family therapist Alyse November said the pandemic is bringing up difficult financial conversations for couples."We want to hear, really hear and when we hear we can repeat it and ask somebody did I get it? Did I get everything that you were saying? William "Bill" Barr, a former attorney general under President George H.W. Bush, is emerging as a consensus candidate to succeed Jeff Sessions as attorney general, two sources familiar with President Donald Trump's thinking tell CNN.A third source familiar with the process said if Trump offered the position to Barr, he would be willing to accept.Trump's consideration of a new attorney general comes during a critical time for special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, of which the next Justice Department chief will inherit oversight. Barr, 68, has previously offered mixed opinions about the investigation, having praised Mueller but also publicly criticizing political donations made by several members of his team.The Washington Post first reported that Barr is the leading candidate. Sources cautioned to CNN, however, that Trump makes the final decision.Barr served as Mueller's boss when he was attorney general in the early 1990s and Mueller led the criminal division at the Justice Department.The former attorney general hasn't shied away from weighing in on Mueller's investigation. Aggressive driving, drunk driving or distracted driving?They're all bad, but new information out on Thursday shows when it comes to risky behavior on the road, distracted driving now tops the list. Nearly nine out of 10 drivers believe it's on the rise. But experts say there are things you can do about it.From reaching for something to the increasing danger of technology, it has become easier to become distracted while driving. In a study out Thursday, the AAA Foundation found drivers talking on a cellphone are up to four times more likely to crash than those not using a cellphone. Those who text and drive are eight times more likely.Mark Stolberg, the Vice President of training at Masterdrive, said many of us look at distractions as small interruptions we can stop at any time.“The problem with it is the traffic situation can become threatening very quickly,” said Stolberg. “So even a little distraction is very dangerous.”“So if you have to check something else, if you have to check the mirror, if you have to check your navigation right, check that then get back focused on driving," Stolberg added. "Get right back focused on driving.”Stolberg demonstrated that when a text message is received, drivers have a tendency to take their eyes off the road.
