Sorry, kids — snow days are off the table for the upcoming academic year in New York City.If there's snow in the forecast, students will learn from home, according to New York State Education Department guidance. School also won't be canceled for any other kind of inclement weather. Singer and actress Janelle Monae confirmed her sexual orientation for the first time in a new interview."Being a black queer woman in America ... someone who has been in relationships with both men and women -- I consider myself to be a free-** m******f***er," she said in a Rolling Stone cover story published online Thursday.Monae, a six-time Grammy nominee who has also starred in films such as "Moonlight" and "Hidden Figures," says she's still learning about her sexuality."But then later I read about pansexuality and I was like, 'Oh, these are things that I identify with too.' I'm open to leaning more about myself," she said.Monae's sexual orientation has been a source of gossip in the past. Her Rolling Stone interview marks the first time she's confirmed that she's bisexual. Glosser, Miller's uncle, says that Miller's maternal family was able to immigrate to the United States from what is now Belarus thanks to chain migration — a policy which the Trump administration has been trying to eliminate.In his op-ed, Glosser says he is the brother of Miller's mother. He claims that Wolf-Leib Glosser came to Ellis Island in January 1903. SPRING VALLEY, Callif. (KGTV) — New video shows a man using a massive brick to break into a Spring Valley dessert shop and steal the cash register. A little after midnight on Feb. 28, the video shows a man breaking into Snoice dessert shop in Spring Valley, walking to the bakery in the back and stealing the register, which had 0 inside. Jayrell Ringpis, the store owner, said he felt violated when he saw the video. "It's just disheartening because we're not alone," he said.The thief hit at least two other businesses in the same strip mall as Snoice, which is on Paradise Valley Road. On Friday, a door was missing from a Mexican restaurant halfway down, and a donut shop had a glass door boarded up. The worker at the donut shop says this is not the first time someone has broken in through the glass.Sheriff's Deputies responded to a call around 4 a.m. Thursday but did not find the suspect. The brick left behind did have some blood on it, but the Sheriff's department didn't immediately respond to further questions.
