President Donald Trump retweeted video Monday night that shows a man assaulting a department store clerk in Michigan."Looks what's going on here. Where are the protesters? Was this man arrested?" the president tweeted Monday night. The video was filmed inside a Macy's department store at the Genesee Valley Center Mall near Flint, Michigan. It shows a customer repeatedly hitting an employee, knocking him to the ground and hitting him again while repeatedly using the "N-word."The employee repeatedly tells the suspect that he's sorry throughout the video. On June 15, Flint Township police were called to the store around 5:45 p.m. Police say a store employee was assaulted by a man while a second man filmed it.Police say they're still gathering evidence. But the video spread quickly on social media, including on Twitter and YouTube. Looks what’s going on here. Where are the protesters? Was this man arrested? https://t.co/2E1UbU5vNN— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 23, 2020 Some social media posts allege the employee used a racial slur. Macy's responded with a statement saying, in part, "All the materials from the evening have been reviewed and it is clear the attack was unprovoked.""Macy's and mall management have added additional security to ensure our customers and colleagues can safely enjoy their shopping experience," the company's statement said.Flint Township police are looking for 18-year-old Damire Canell Palmer of Mount Morris, Michigan and 22-year-old Damarquay Jovan Palmer of Flint Township in connection with the case. President Donald Trump has begun the initial steps of preparing for a possible interview with the special counsel, a White House official and a person familiar with the situation said Friday, a sign the President's legal team is intensifying its deliberations over whether to allow him to come under Robert Mueller's questioning. One source familiar with the proceedings stressed the preparation efforts is "in its infancy."The preparations have been short and informal and included going over potential topics with the President that Mueller would likely raise in an interview, the people said. 602

President Donald Trump is set to hold his first news conference of the week, slated to start at today 5:30 p.m. ET.Trump has been on the campaign trail this week, making stops in Wisconsin and Minnesota on Monday followed by a visit to Arizona on Tuesday. Meanwhile this week, the Democrats have been holding their quadrennial national convention virtually.Trump will likely field questions about the convention, which has featured two former presidents – Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter – and will features Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama this evening. Clinton made scathing response against Trump, decrying the current president's response to the coronavirus. The president is also expected to address the latest slimmed down stimulus proposal that Senate Republicans are considering. The Senate is weighing a much smaller stimulus plan that would direct funds toward small businesses and the unemployed. The plan does not include a second round of stimulus checks, which up until recently, had broad agreement among Senate Republicans, House Democrats and the White House. 1081

President Donald Trump publicly attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci — his administration's top expert on infectious diseases — just days after Fauci criticized the president's campaign taking a March interview of his "out of context" and using it in a campaign ad."Actually, Tony's pitching arm is far more accurate than his prognostications," Trump tweeted Monday, referencing Fauci's errant first pitch at a Washington Nationals game earlier this year.Trump's message came in a quote tweet of a Sunday CNN article in which Fauci confirmed a recent Trump campaign and took him "out of context."The ad, which touts Trump's efforts in fighting COVID-19, features a quote from Fauci during an interview on Fox News. 712

President Donald Trump acknowledged for the first time Thursday that his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, is representing him with regards to legal matters involving Stormy Daniels, the porn star who says she had an affair with Trump. On Cohen, the President both solidified his link with Cohen on the Stormy Daniels matter and distanced himself from his personal attorney, whom Trump said has overseen "a tiny, tiny little fraction" of his legal work. But in the process, the President may have inadvertently boosted the arguments of prosecutors who have said that communications between the two men shouldn't be considered confidential under attorney-client privilege provisions."He has a percentage of my overall legal work, a tiny, tiny little fraction, but Michael would represent me and represent me on some things. He represents me like with this crazy Stormy Daniels deal, he represented me. You know, from what I see, he did absolutely nothing wrong."The revelation, which came after Cohen asserted his Fifth Amendment rights in the matter, was just one snippet of a rambling, half-hour long phone interview on "Fox & Friends," during which the President railed against the FBI and his own Justice Department, rehashed issues involving Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign and addressed plans for a summit with the North Korean leader. The President appeared animated and agitated during much of the interview, which was reminiscent of his frequent phone-in interviews during the 2016 presidential campaign.Trump was especially animated about the developments involving his attorney and the ongoing special counsel investigation into Russian interference in 2016 and the saga involving his nominee to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson."Doc Ronny -- you know, we call him Doc Ronny, we call him Admiral Ronny. He's an admiral, highly respected, a real leader," Trump said Thursday. "You know, these are all false accusations that were made. These are false and they're trying to destroy a man. By the way, I did say welcome to Washington. Welcome to the swamp. Welcome to the world of politics."From there, Trump jumped to slamming the former FBI director James Comey as a "leaker" and a "liar," before pivoting to slamming CNN as "fake news" and accusing the Justice Department -- which is led by his political appointees -- of not "doing their job.""I'm very disappointed in my Justice Department but because of the fact that it's going under, and I think you'll understand this, I have decided that I won't be involved. I may change my mind at some point because what's going on is a disgrace," Trump said. 2671
