The personal-finance website compared the attractiveness of each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia for a working mother based on 15 key metrics, such as median women’s salary, female unemployment rate and day-care quality.California ranked 13 out of 51 in the overall tally. (KGTV) — The number of troops stationed at the U.S.-Mexico border will decrease from 5,600 to about 4,000 troops and their deployment will be extended into January, according to the Associated Press.The AP, citing U.S. officials speaking on the condition of anonymity, said a formal request submitted by the Department of Homeland Security Friday requested the additional support. The request has yet to be approved by Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, though military officials have been working with DHS to help develop the request, the AP reports.Troops were deployed by President Donald Trump in response to a migrant caravan from Central America. A 3-year-old girl was found safe after spending almost 24 hours in the woods on her own.Abby Ladwig went missing August 9, along with her family’s dog Peanut. Abby lives in Sawyer County, Wisconsin, in the northern section of the state and surrounded by forests. Local media reports the girl walked away while her father stepped inside for a few minutes.Her mother, Lisa Koch, posted on Facebook along with pictures of Abby and Peanut.
