SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A North Park house, empty for years, has nearby neighbors frustrated about the lack of action taken to clean up the property they say has become a magnet for crime. "We have people that are squatting here, we've had illicit drug use, we've had prostitutes, we've had an increase in break ins in the area, " said Alan Nelson, who lives across the street. Nelson says even though he and others call the police, unless it's an emergency they can't always come out. He has called and emailed Councilman Chis Ward's office repeatedly about the matter but isn't happy with the response he's received. Ward's office says the property is in foreclosure and the case is being handled by the city attorney's office. They issued the following statement to 10News:"My office has been working with the San Diego police department and city code enforcement to address the illegal activity occurring at this property. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man accused of fatally stabbing his neighbor 33 times in Rancho Pe?asquitos last week pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.Police said Howard Forrest Lowe, 54, stabbed his neighbor, Richard Munsinger, 72, repeatedly in an unprovoked attack in Munsinger's garage in the 9500 block of High Park Lane.Following the attack, police said Lowe washed his hands and made a getaway on his bike before authorities caught up to him.RELATED: Police identify victim, suspect in deadly Rancho Pe?asquitos stabbingLowe faces 26 years to life in prison if convicted. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A man was stabbed to death in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter early Wednesday morning, and police say one person was detained in connection with the incident.At around 2:30 a.m., San Diego police responded to reports of a stabbing in the 400 block of Fifth Avenue, near J Street.When officers arrived, they saw a man in his 40s with a stab wound on his chest lying on the ground with a woman trying to keep pressure on the injury.The victim was rushed to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.After the victim gave police a description of the attacker, officers spotted and then apprehended a man believed to be linked to the stabbing.ABC 10News learned the man was detained for questioning.SDPD Lt. Andra Brown said the incident is under investigation, but it appeared the stabbing took place following an exchange of words between the victim and his friends and another group of people. 940

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Mission Hills business complex plagued by homeless loiterers for weeks posted videos on Ring Neighbors Sunday, receiving sympathy and frustration from the community.The latest video, taken Saturday night at 10:20 p.m. shows a man walking away from a business's door. The caption said the man was trying the door handle.The first of six videos is dated June 26th. Just before 1 a.m. it shows what looks like a man walking a bike into an alcove where the mailboxes hang on the wall, and setting up a walker.Then, July first just before 2 a.m. a different man walks a bicycle in, surveys the mailboxes with a flashlight, talking with a friend who walks in behind him carrying two bags. The second man said he stays there a lot.July 16th, around 3 a.m. a man looks like he's arranging an area to sleep. July 24th, at 11:44 p.m. a woman comes in sits down and charges her phone. The caption on the video says the landlord removed the electrical outlet after the video was recorded.July 31st around 10:15 p.m. the owner spoke through the Ring doorbell, asking if she could help the homeless man who was sleeping in front of her business. He replied, "No you can't help me with anything, thank you though, I'm just sitting here for a minute, thank you for interrupting my peace and quiet, thank you. I hate humanity, I hate people." She responded, "Well you're actually on private property right now," he fired back, "I'm on private property everywhere I go, I don't care." He then told her to burn in hell, packed up and left."It's infectious for every neighborhood," neighbor Jeff Olson said. He moved into the neighborhood in April and says he doesn't see as many homeless people in Mission Hills compared to El Cajon."It's a shame. What do you do? SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A local marine is recovering from COVID-19 while deployed overseas.Jennifer Dulaney says her husband, Kyle, was deployed in April and is serving at a base in Okinawa. He tested for COVID-19 earlier this month.“My husband called me on a Monday morning as I was getting ready for work and said he felt like he was getting symptoms,” Jennifer said.Kyle got worse and was eventually sent to the ICU. His condition began to worsen that he qualified for the Remdesivir. It was described as an experimental drug, and doctors needed Jennifer’s permission to administer it to Kyle.Jennifer is a nurse and knew that COVD-19 could be very severe.“I know where COVID can go, they can spiral downwards real fast,” she said, “so for me, the benefits outweighed the risk.”Jennifer said he began to show improvement on the fifth day. She was able to him Friday morning.“They were drawing his lab work because that’s one of the things with the experimental (treatment), they have to watch things very closely,” she described, “but he actually laughed on the phone, he was able to talk to me without coughing. It’s amazing.”She hopes her husband will be out of the ICU within the next two days.During the difficult time, Jennifer took a leave of absence from her job. She said it was difficult to continue working as a nurse while worrying about her husband’s health. So to help with finances, a friend started a GoFundMe for their family. The GoFundMe has received so much more than they expected, she’s going to donate what they don’t spend to a non-profit that helps military families.“It’s so amazing, so I want to take the amazing, so I wanted to pay it forward,” she said. 1688
