David Blaine is under investigation after reports of sexual assault were made against the magician, New York Police Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said on Monday. An active investigation is under way by the department's special victims division, Shea said at a news conference on Monday. Shea declined to provide any additional details.Meanwhile, sources familiar with the investigation told CNN that an accuser has come forward to file a report against Blaine with the NYPD. However, the allegation is outside the statute of limitations, according to the sources. It is unclear how the NYPD will proceed with the investigation.Additionally, a source told CNN there was an investigation into Blaine about a year ago, but it has since been closed.Blaine did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment. The master illusionist first rose to fame in 1999 when he was buried in a plexiglass coffin under a three-ton water-filled tank for seven days. Since then, Blaine has encased himself in a six-ton block of ice in Times Square for 58 hours, stood atop a flagpole for 35 hours and spent 44 days suspended in a glass box in London.Blaine is scheduled for a European tour that kicks off in June. 1212

CHICAGO, Illinois (WBBM) — Federal charges were filed against Donald Greene Sr. and Donald Green Jr. -- a Chicago area father and son -- for allegedly selling body parts on the black market from people who thought they were donating to science. The pair also allegedly sold parts they knew were diseased without telling their buyers.Bodies known to have HIV, sepsis and hepatitis kept on ice, then sold. Some were sold for up to 0,000.The father and son duo was behind the now shuttered Biological Resource Center of Illinois.Per a search warrant, a mother was told her son’s tissues would be donated to colleges and research centers.Instead, parts of him sold for ,000.In the charges filed, United States attorneys repeatedly call it a scheme "to defraud customers of the Biological Resource Center of Illinois."It's not illegal to dismember and broker body parts -- per se.But it is illegal to knowingly sell remains positive for infectious disease. It is alleged the Greene’s did this from 2008 to 2014.The federal document charging the Greene’s alleges the men sold to Detroit Medical Center’s sports medicine department at least one specimen that “had previously tested positive for hepatitis. This fact was concealed by Donald A. Greene Sr.'s scheme to defraud."Greene Sr. is charged with wire fraud. While Greene Jr. faces a felony for intentionally concealing a crime.Authorities were led to the Greene’s while investigating Detroit body broker Arthur Rathburn, who is now in federal prison. 1517

Economists are split on whether there will be a recession in the next few years. Many of them say if there is one, it won't be driven by the housing market like last time. However, the housing market still plays a key role in a healthy economy, so experts are watching a few things closely, including supply and demand and home values.Experts predict older Americans will flood the market by putting 21 million homes up for sale over the next 20 years. But some economists say market forces could decimate demand by then. And with low demand, sellers will be forced to lower their prices in order to sell.Experts say the whole process could create a housing bubble, and then, burst it.Experts are also watching subprime lending. That’s when lenders let people with bad credit borrow money.Critics argue those loans are more likely to go into default, especially if there’s any hiccup in the economy.Subprime lending is much lower today than it was before the last housing crisis, but some experts say those rates are still too high.Experts do say new lending standards could prevent mortgages that helped create the crisis. 1131
