(KGTV) -- The brother of San Diego hiker Paul Hanks is talking about his ordeal in Joshua Tree National Park. His brother said he was reported missing on Tuesday, March 13 after he failed to show up to a meeting with his ex-wife in Las Vegas. Hanks' truck was found near the Maze Loop and Hanks was found by a member of the Joshua Tree Search and Rescue crew on Thursday, March 15. According to his son-in-law, Hanks broke his ankle and fractured his skull after falling 20 feet. He was missing for four days and buried himself in the sand to stay warm, drinking rainwater to stay hydrated until he was found."He had a very harrowing experience. It's a compelling story of survival and we were just stunned when they found him," Hanks' brother said. "I think he's just incredibly thankful to be alive." When asked if he thought the experience hiker would ever return to Joshua Tree National Park, his brother said:"I think he'll absolutely go back. I do know if he goes back, he won't be going back without a satellite phone...a flare gun," he said, smiling. "He really thought he was going on a minimal risk venture. (KGTV) — Vista Unified School District is postponing the in-person reopening of two high schools after learning that hundreds of students attended at least two Halloween parties last month.A letter from district and school officials to parents said that students from Vista High School and Mission Vista High School attended two large parties over the weekend and didn't practice social distancing or mask requirements.Because of the reported parties, VUSD said it will reschedule the reopening of in-person classes at both schools until Monday, Nov. 16. A 20-year-old Shelby Township, Michigan man has been charged with making a terrorist threat against Lakeside Mall.Tyler Tindell was arraigned Monday and locked up on 0,000 bond.Police say they received credible word of the threat on Friday. They tracked Tindell down by Friday afternoon. He was arrested at his home and a gun was found.Police say he had sent text messages planning a mass shooting at Lakeside Mall.During the investigation, officers from the Sterling Heights Police Department were sent to provide additional security to the mall and surrounding community.“At no time was the safety of anybody at Lakeside Mall in jeopardy; this, in large part, was because of the communication between all law enforcement agencies involved in this case,” said Sterling Height Deputy Police Chief Mark Coil. 833
