NEW YORK — Now sold on Amazon: insulin and inhalers. The company said Tuesday that it has opened an online pharmacy, giving shoppers the chance to buy their medication on their phones and computers. The move propels Amazon into a new business and could shake up the pharmacy industry. The move puts the online retail giant in direct competition with big chains like CVS and Walgreens, who rely on their pharmacies to bring them a steady flow of shoppers who stop by frequently to pick up their medications. Amazon said it will offer commonly prescribed medications starting, including creams, pills and medications that need to stay cold, like insulin. NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A New Port Richey, Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl at his house while playing Grand Theft Auto, deputies say. The alleged rape was witnessed by another gamer who overheard the incident while playing the game with the suspect over PlayStation 4. Daniel Enrique Fabian, 18, was arrested on Wednesday, November 21 and charged with lewd and lascivious battery in connection to the incident which occurred on June 28, 2018. The 15-year-old girl was at Fabian's home at the time of the incident. Fabian is known to the victim. Fabian was playing Grand Theft Auto with another gamer when he told the other gamer he had a girl over at his house and he was going to "smash" her.Fabian stopped playing the game for 15 minutes and during that time, the other gamer says Fabian's microphone was still on and he could hear the victim moaning and saying "no." The victim told Fabian to stop four times, but he continued to have sexual intercourse with her, according to the arrest affidavit.After 15 minutes, Fabian resumed playing the video game with the other gamer. A Sexual Assault Victim Exam was done on the 15-year-old girl and the results supported the allegation of sexual abuse. Fabian was arrested and booked into the Land O' Lakes Detention Center. 1350
North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp is facing the very real possibility that she may have to say good bye to the seat she's held for the past six years.Heitkamp is a moderate Democrat, who touts her ability to make tough choices and not always voting based on politics. One of the hardest moments for her was voting "no" to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh."I think that a lot of people wrote the political obituary after that vote, and it may in fact be that," says Heitkamp.Voting against Trump was also a risky move, in a state that voted for the president by a 36-point margin.When asked if that factored into her decision at all, Heitkamp replied, “No, because when you’re making this decision, especially on a Supreme Court justice, there’s no do-overs.”In recent polls, Heitkamp trailed her opponent, Congressman Kevin Cramer, by double digits.Having someone always stand with Trump seems to be what some voters in North Dakota are looking for.“She voted ‘no’ on Kavanaugh; that was a big deal to me,” says one voter.But there were plenty who would say the opposite.“I really admired her for doing what was right in her heart, rather than what she was pressured to do,” says another voter. “So, I admire her independence on that.”Heitkamp hopes that come Tuesday she'll beat the odds and be elected to serve another term. 1346
NEW YORK -- A bodega clerk who was attacked by a customer in New York City is concerned mask laws will get someone killed, he said Sunday.Javier Franco and Aneuri Castillo were in a Morrisania bodega several weeks ago when they were attacked. Franco was stacking the shelves when he asked a customer to put on a mask. The customer punched him in the face.“The mask law is going to get someone killed," Franco said. "We are doing our best trying to obey the law so we don’t lose our liquor license, but it seems we could lose our life instead."Castillo was smacked in a mask confrontation with a customer."This was shocking to me," he said. "I tried to do what the governor asked us. I told him it was the law. I’m scared! Maybe he’ll come back and shoot me. It’s so hard coming to work not knowing how the day will go. I have a family and they need me, I don’t want to die in the bodega."United Bodegas of America spokesman Fernando Mateo said both incidents happened within minutes of one another. He said they're meeting with NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea soon to address their concerns.“The mayor and the governor have a responsibility to keep us all safe," he said.
