BEIJING, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged efforts to advance the construction of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway project with high quality.

The country is now in the final stretch of its plan to eradicate poverty. Xi told the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September that China is confident of meeting the poverty eradication target in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development 10 years ahead of schedule.

"In the first half of this year, we focused on helping businesses to keep their payrolls stable. Starting from now, our focus shall be shifted to adding new jobs. We must not reduce the intensity of fiscal and financial support policies or the policies in improving the business climate," Li said. "We must place great importance on the employment of college graduates this year. We need to expand employment channels for key groups of people, to further tap the potential of employment."

It was Xi's first trip outside Beijing after the fifth plenary session of the 19th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, a key meeting held in October to chart the course for China's development in the next 15 years to guide the country's march toward modernization. It signals the Party's commitment to socialism with Chinese characteristics and reform and opening-up.

Noting that more than 50 percent of L'Oreal's sales in China come via e-commerce, Jean-Paul Agon, CEO of the cosmetics giant, said that "We are learning a lot in China and thanks to the learning that we have in China, we are improving our performance in e-commerce in all the countries of the world."
