SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Starting this year, San Diego State University will begin restricting freshmen living on campus from parking their cars on campus.The new policy will go into effect beginning this fall, the university said Thursday. Incoming freshmen students will not be allowed to park on campus for their first year of schooling.SDSU's website says the change reflects the college's stance that the, "on-campus living experience an integral and necessary part of the total education."RELATED: SDSU details plan to avoid flooding at Mission Valley campusIn a statement to 10News, SDSU said the policy follows similar parking restrictions enacted at other California universities, including University of California, San Diego, CSU Long Beach, and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several City Heights homes were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after authorities responding to a medical call found possible military ordnance. The incident began after San Diego Police were called to the scene to investigate a death at 50th and Wightman Streets around 2 p.m. Shortly after police arrived, San Diego Fire Rescue says bomb units responded to the area after what is believed to be a military ordnance was discovered. The special event will take place every weekend until SeaWorld can fully open. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police released Thursday the name of a man who was shot and died after reportedly breaking in to a San Carlos home. Hollis Forman, 38, entered the home in the 6300 block of Lake Shore Drive July 16 and began fighting with the 54-year-old homeowner, police said. The homeowner’s wife called 911 as her husband confronted the man. Police said the homeowner’s 20-year-old son grabbed a gun and shot Forman, who ran out the back door and fell into the pool.
