Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered a review Friday into how the Justice Department and FBI respond to indications of potential violence after the bureau said it failed to act on a tip about the shooter in the Parkland, Florida, school massacre.A person close to Nikolas Cruz, the confessed shooter, contacted the FBI on January 5 to report concerns about him, the FBI said in a statement Friday. At least 2.4 million more Americans were impacted by an Equifax data breach that happened last year, though those customers had less data stolen.The Associated Press reported the newly announced customers had only their names and a partial driver's license number stolen. The original data breach involved 145.5 million Americans who had their Social Security numbers impacted.In the driver's license theft, the attackers were unable to get the state where the license was issued and the dates of issuance and expiration. 529

Authorities are currently hunting a suspect in central Tennessee after a Dickson County sheriff's deputy was shot and killed on Wednesday. The suspect has been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted list.Officials are searching for 31-year-old Steven Joshua Wiggins west of Nashville in connection with the death of Sgt. Daniel Baker with the Dickson County Sheriff's Office.Baker was killed Wednesday morning after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle. He was found inside his patrol car. Wiggins, who has been arrested for aggravated assault and misdemeanor vandalism in the past, is considered to be armed and dangerous. He’s been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 Most Wanted list. The reward for his capture has been increased to ,500.   843

ATLANTA — Georgia’s top elections official on Friday certified election results showing Joe Biden won the presidential election after a hand tally stemming from a mandatory audit affirmed the Democrat’s lead over Republican President Donald Trump.Friday morning, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger held a press conference to say his office would certify the results following the recount.“Working as an engineer throughout my life, I live by the motto that numbers don’t lie,” Raffensperger said at the state Capitol. “As secretary of state, I believe that the numbers that we have presented today are correct. The numbers reflect the verdict of the people, not a decision by the secretary of state’s office or of courts or of either campaign.”The Georgia hand recount results were 2,475,141 votes for president-elect Joe Biden and 2,462,857 votes for President Trump. Biden's lead is about .25 percent of the vote. Georgia's 16 electoral college votes will go to Biden, given him a projected 306 votes, well above the 270 needed to become president."In certifying the results, the Secretary of State affirmed that all 159 counties have provided to the state the total votes tabulated for each state and federal candidate. As the USPS is collecting letters from children across the United States, someone will need to respond to all of those children. Starting Friday, the USPS will begin Operation Santa, which will allow adults to respond to letters written by children. According to the USPS, potential adopters can read the letters and pick one, or more, that they’d like to fulfill. USPS says for security reasons, potential adopters must be vetted by going through a short registration and ID verification process before they are allowed to adopt any letter.The USPS says that the program is intended to help millions of less fortunate children. The program is for every person of every belief, or non-belief, USPS says.This is the first time Operation Santa has gone nationwide because of the pandemic.USPS says children who want to be a possible recipient of holiday gifts can write a letter, put it in a stamped envelope with a return address, and send it to Santa’s official workshop address.
