CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- New information from the county shows that an anonymous tip led to the inspection and eventual closure of Filippi's.According to the county, the property manager of the complex requested that the Department of Health's Vector Control Program provide a consultation on rodent activity at the complex. After completing the inspection of the building's exterior, inspectors reportedly found a small amount of rodent droppings near the dumpster areas behind the complex. RELATED: Filippi's pizza restaurant in Eastlake Chula Vista closes for good after vermin infestation reportIn February of 2018, the county says inspectors received an anonymous complaint regarding rodents inside Filippi's. The restaurant received a primary inspection report on April 18 showing that an inspector found 20 dried rodent droppings in a back oven and rodent nests in the panels of two ovens. The inspector also reportedly found rodent droppings in utensil storage areas, beneath a stove and in dry storage areas. The report shows that there were several holes in an exterior wall and a door leading to the outdoor trash area. A second inspection was conducted a second day which found six dried mouse droppings and two fresh rat droppings in a dry storage area. Dried urine was also found on plastic wrapper of cardboard pizza boxes and gnaw marks through plastic into boxes, according to the report.  1474

(KGTV) -- A family in Otay Ranch is hoping a group of teens will face consequences for allegedly assaulting their teenage son.The incident was captured on cell phone video and posted to social media by the teen's mother. The family says their teen was waiting for his mom to pick him up at Cotixan Mexican Restaurant on Thursday after school, when a group of teens walked in and started kicking and punching the boy. At one point in the seven-second clip, you can see someone throw a chair on the teen. The boy's father, Margarito Martin, tells 10News he was shocked when he saw the video. He says everything started days before on Instagram, when, he says, his son told someone to stop harassing one of his friends. Martin says one teen then started messaging his son telling him he was going to beat him up. Martin says the incident was reported to Chula Vista Police but he's worried the teens will get away with what they did. Using a laptop, smartphone, or tablet for school, as most Ohio children have done since March, doesn’t necessarily have the same effect as using the same device for social media or games.Still, he encouraged families to closely examine the amount of time they and their children spend using screens every day. He recommended setting aside screen-free times, such as during meals, and encouraging battery-free activities such as reading or playing outside as a healthy complement to children’s daily routines."I think it's very important,” he said. “I think every family is going to have something that's realistic for them. CHULA VISTA (KGTV) – Chula Vista police are investigating an overnight carjacking and kidnapping involving perpetrators disguised as law enforcement.The incident was reported just before midnight Tuesday in the Rancho Del Rey III neighborhood in East Chula Vista.Police said a group of men, armed with guns and wearing bullet proof vests, were driving in two white Ford Expedition SUV’s, which appeared to look like squad vehicles. Two people wearing vests with the word 'police' on the front ordered him to get out of his Renault Koleos SUV. Police said the victim believed the suspects had a gun. He got into one of their SUVs and was driven to Paseo Del Rey Park, located between Telegraph Canyon Road and East J Street. The suspects released the victim unharmed at the park, according to police.The victim walked 40 minutes to a residence on J Street to call 9-1-1, police said. He was not hurt in the incident, police said.The suspect vehicles and the stolen SUV are still outstanding, according to police.
