The alleged abuse happened between September 2013 and April 2016 with a victim who was 11 years old when the abuse started, records state. The victim said Scott twice had intercourse with her and had subjected her to other sex acts numerous times in the family home in Hooper, records state.Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Scott forced a Dodge County deputy from the transport vehicle en route from Lincoln Diagnostic and Evaluation Center to Dodge County Jail, according to a Dodge County Sheriff's Department press release. The deputy was taken to Fremont Health Medical Center for treatment as a precautionary measure, the release states.Scott had been serving a two- to four-year sentence since April 11, 2016, for his fifth DUI offense, and was due to be released Oct. 21, according to the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. It becomes the third museum to add emoji to their digital collections. The New York museum acquired the “person with headscarf” and “inter-skintone couple” emoji for its burgeoning collection of digital assets. The museum plans an exhibition explaining the significance of the two through interviews and images, but the pandemic has put an opening date in limbo, said Andrea Lipps, Cooper Hewitt’s associate curator of contemporary design.“The desire to acquire these particular emoji arose from what we were seeing as the desire for inclusion and representation of various groups and communities and couples on the emoji keyboard,” Lipps told The Associated Press in an interview ahead of the announcement.The emoji are commonly known as “woman in hijab” and “interracial couple.”The hijab emoji, as it’s informally known, was submitted in 2016 to the Unicode Consortium, a nonprofit that oversees emoji standards with voting members from the world’s top digital companies. Sesame Workshop — the nonprofit, educational organization behind “Sesame Street” — will air the half-hour anti-racist special “The Power of We” and hopes families will watch together. The special defines racism and shows how it can be hurtful. It urges children who encounter racism or hear someone else be the victim of it to call it out. Gabrielle the Muppet advises: “When you see something that’s wrong, speak up and say, ‘That’s wrong’ and tell an adult."“Sesame Street has the ability to entertain children while explaining complex issues like no other program and equips families and caregivers with the support they need to have empathetic conversations,” said Kay Wilson Stallings, Executive Vice President of Creative and Production at Sesame Workshop. “We believe that this moment calls for a direct discussion about racism to help children grasp the issues and teach them that they are never too young to be ‘upstanders’ for themselves, one another, and their communities.”The special will stream on HBO Max and PBS KIDS starting Thursday, October 15, PBS says.
