(KGTV) -- Authorities are warning Americans traveling to Tijuana about people posing as police officers reportedly getting aggressive with drivers waiting to cross the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Photos from Tijuana Police show officers near the port putting a man in handcuffs. Authorities in Mexico say he’s one of 35 people arrested Sunday for being aggressive to drivers waiting to get back into the United States. The concern was raised this week as travelers are expected to head south for the holiday weekend. Marco Sotomayor, the Secretary of Public Safety in Tijuana told the San Diego Union Tribune that the city is seeing cases that are more violent and more consistent. Sotomayor goes on to say that criminals sometimes mask themselves as police officers wearing fake badges on hats and jackets, demanding money from drivers stuck in lines. "I think you very much stick out if you've never been to Mexico, and you don't know where you're going and you don't know what roads to take, I think that does make you a very easy target,” said Amanda Matti with Daytripper Tours. She says the company has been safely traveling into Mexico for 30 years. Because they travel in large groups via buses and have contacts across the border, Matti says their tour service never runs into these type of issues. "Our driver is usually local, experienced in Mexico, our tour managers are experienced, so I think they know not to target us."Matti says if you plan on going this weekend and don’t have experience, don’t go alone. SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. – A section of the Three Mile Bridge in Pensacola is missing after Hurricane Sally battered the Gulf Coast Wednesday morning.The structure, also known as the Pensacola Bay Bridge, runs between Pensacola and Gulf Breeze, Florida.WEAR reports that state Sen. Scientists believe they have discovered a new species of whale in Mexico.The team was taking underwater video and audio samples of three beaked whales near Baja California. They work with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society near the San Benito Islands, about 300 miles from the U.S. border.They originally were looking for what animal was making an unidentified sound recorded in 2018 in the area.Experts in the field of beaked whales now say the scientists’ observations don’t match anything seen before, and they are “highly confident” the video shows an entirely new species, according to a press release.“We saw something new. Something that was not expected in this area, something that doesn’t match, either visually or acoustically, anything that is known to exist,” said Dr. Jay Barlow in a statement from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. “It just sends chills up and down my spine when I think that we might have accomplished what most people would say was truly impossible – finding a large mammal that exists on this earth that is totally unknown to science.”Scientists are now using genetic sampling to confirm what the scientists found is really a new kind of beaked whale.The discovery of a new species of beaked whale proves how much mystery there is left to discover in the oceans that our captains, crews, and research partners fight to defend,” said Peter Hammarstedt, Director of Campaigns for Sea Shepherd. 1442

SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - A local woman says her heart stopped when she saw what someone nearly sat on at a popular trail in Santee.Angie Haake was just beginning her usual dog walk last Thursday morning near the entrance of Walker Preserve Trail, when she noticed two upset women on the phone talking to deputies.  Haake asked them what was going on and they showed her a razor blade on the bench."I was shocked when it saw it. Obviously whoever put it there wanted someone to sit down and slice the back of their thighs. It's cruel and hateful," said Haake.The discovery was not the first.  Another trail goer tells 10news about three weeks ago, she found a similar blade near another bench.  In November 2016, 10news spoke with a mother at Mast Park in Santee, who found dozens of tacks placed sharp-side up underneath leaves.10news reached out to deputies to find out how many reports of similar cases there have been on the trail, but have yet to hear back. 983
