Qin Yong, director-general of the Department of High and New Technology of the MOST, said at a press conference that some new formats and new models of industries, especially those based on the Internet, have played an important role during the epidemic prevention and control, breaking through the limitations of time and space, providing various services for society and showing great development potential.

"I can book through the attractions' official online channels or call them with the required information for a limited number of family members, and check the real-time passenger flow on the WeChat accounts of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism," she said, adding that nearly 200 attractions, museums, art galleries and public cultural centers have launched booking access through Visit Shanghai, an online platform with Shanghai's cultural and tourism resources.

Chen also stressed the importance of emphasizing the huge demand for digital transformation and improving new digital infrastructure to facilitate economic and social upgrade of the country.
