Boarding a flight can sometimes be a long process, and if you’re flying internationally, it can take even longer. However, thanks to new technology, you can soon say goodbye to those long wait times. It's called facial biometrics, and essentially, travelers’ faces are their boarding passes. One of the companies behind the facial recognition technology at the airport is SITA. A machine scans the traveler’s face right before you board, ensuring the right people are getting on the plane. "There is an element of enhanced confidence in your flight about who is on your flight from this activity," says Janice Kephart, former National Security Director says. That's because U.S. Customs and Border Protection, along with SITA, uses your face against terror watch lists and illegal aliens. "In the first two months, we've got 62 imposters that we could’ve missed, because human beings are pretty lousy when it comes to determining imposters," says Colleen Manaher, executive director of U.S. Customs and Borders Protection. Manaher says biometric technology is enhancing traveler safety and convenience at airports around the country. The agency hopes one day TSA will jump on board with using facial biometrics. It's a growing problem for people nationwide: rising student loan debt. Now, members of Congress are expected to take action. Lawmakers are introducing legislation to eliminate that debt for millions of Americans. That decision would greatly impact people like Cheryl Medina. At the age of 63, Medina wants to focus on planning for her retirement. Instead, she worries about paying her bills, especially her student loans, which she says have gotten bigger despite her paying 0 a month. “It's ,000. After getting divorced 20 years ago, Medina went back to school, hoping a college degree would improve her job prospects. INDIANAPOLIS – An employee at an Indianapolis Target Starbucks has been fired after posting a video on TikTok showing a fake “Blue Lives Matter” drink with what looked to be bleach.The video shows a Starbucks employee with a cup that reads “Blue Lives Matter.” The barista says, “First, we’re going to start with bleach all the way to the third line,” and pours a liquid into the cup. They put ice in the cup and say, “Because cops love ice,” then add a red mixture saying, “Then a little blood of innocent black men.” They have since been fired, a Target spokesperson said.Since the Starbucks was inside a Target, all hiring and management decisions are done by the Target. A Target spokesperson said they don’t believe actual bleach was ever used, just milk and water. They also said the drink in the video wasn’t served to anyone.Target’s full statement is below:“This video is appalling and unacceptable. We don’t tolerate this behavior at Target, want all guests to be treated with respect and have terminated the team member who was responsible. We also have rigorous food safety procedures in place, which this team member egregiously violated with this behavior.
