ASTANA, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived here Wednesday evening, starting a three-day official visit to Kazakhstan at the invitation of Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov.     Wen is scheduled to attend the 7th prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). BEIJING, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Leaders from the Communist Party of China(CPC) and the Prosperous Armenia of Armenia pledged to promote contacts based on principles of independence, equality and non-interference in each other's internal affairs on Monday.     Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and Gagik Tsarukyan, president of the Prosperous Armenia agreed to learn from each other to cement the relations between the two countries during a meeting at the Great Hall of the People.     Li said Sino-Armenia relations had developed smoothly and cooperation in the fields of trade, education, science and agriculture had been fruitful since the two countries forged diplomatic ties in 1992.     He expressed appreciation of Armenia's adherence to the one-China policy, saying China valued ties with Armenia and would upgrade the bilateral ties to benefit the two peoples.     Tsarukyan echoed that his party would strengthen cooperation with the CPC to further relations between Armenia and China.     Prosperous Armenia of Armenia was founded by Tsarukyan in late 2005, and now is the second largest political party in parliament.     Tsarukyan and his party are visiting China at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

He hoped the company could initiate more independent innovations and create more use for the coal to diversify the country's energy consumption.     In the outskirts of the city, which borders a desert on China's Loess Plateau, Hu inspected one of the four forest walls planted to break sand storms and prevent soil erosion.

BEIJING, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese government vowed to beef up vocational training for migrant workers, college graduates and laid-off workers, who were badly hit by the global financial crisis, to help them land jobs, according to a joint circular issued by three ministries.     Local government should offer the migrant workers necessary training to help them find jobs in the railway and infrastructure construction, power sector and rebuilding of the quake-hit areas, according to the joint circular issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.     Vocational schools and technical training institutions should enhance training for people who were affected by the crisis, and work out programs to help them find new jobs, said the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security on Sunday.     China's urban unemployment rate was 4.2 percent at the end of 2008, up 0.2 percentage points year on year, according to official figures.

BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Accelerating reconstruction work is the top priority in quake-affected areas, said Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao during his visit over the weekend to Sichuan Province.     He told villagers in Anxian County on Sunday that the government would strengthen support to farmers to help them rebuild their houses within two years, instead of three years as was the original schedule.     The construction of public facilities, including schools, kindergartens and hospitals should also be quickened, Wen added.     "We can achieve that," he said.     When visited students and teachers of the Beichuan Middle School on Saturday. The school has been operating in a temporary shelter. He told students who were injured in the quake, never to give up.     "I hope you will be optimistic against all the difficulties," When said.     He also listened to a report on the plan to rebuild Beichuan County as it was destroyed by the quake.     "The reconstruction work for the new county should be based on advice from experts and the public," When said.     He also visited the Sichuan Jiuzhou Electric Group, which has resumed production after the quake, and the Pangang Group Sichuan Chengcheng Special Steel Cooperation.     When said reconstruction work should not only rely on government investment.     "Private companies should be motivated to invest in post-quake reconstruction projects," he said.     It's Wen's sixth visit to the area after the 8.0-magnitude quake stuck on May 12 killing nearly 70,000 people. More than 17,000 are still missing.
