PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — Hurricane Marco is heading across the Gulf of Mexico on a path toward the Louisiana coast.Tropical Storm Laura battered the Dominican Republic and Haiti and is headed to the same part of the U.S. coast, also as a potential hurricane. On Sunday, President Donald Trump said his administration was closely monitoring both hurricanes and that they had FEMA lined up and the Coast Guard ready to go. Trump added that he had approved emergency declarations for Puerto Rico as well as Louisiana.It appears the storms will avoid being hurricanes simultaneously — something that researchers say has never happened in the Gulf of Mexico at least since records began being kept in 1900. The National Hurricane Center says Marco was about 240 miles (390 kilometers) south-southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River late Sunday afternoon. POWAY, Calif. (KGTV) — North County residents forced to use bottled water following a boil water advisory will have to wait a little longer to return to the tap.The City of Poway issued a boil water advisory on Saturday after learning that a recent storm may have compromised the potable drinking water system. Tuesday, the city said two tests showed water meets industry standards and was absent of bacteria. Though the tests are positive, the city says they will continue the advisory per state protocols. Officials were not able to offer a timeline as to when the advisory would be lifted. Officials say water should be boiled for a minute and that it's still safe to shower.As the boil order continued Tuesday, many local small business owners are growing more concerned.At Poway's Round Table Pizza, employees were able to operate on a limited menu and modified permit thanks to help from a neighboring location in Rancho Bernardo. They were one of the few local restaurants able to stay open.But across town, Pacific Pizza owner John Crosser says he's lost thousands after having to throw out dough used with water before the order was issued Saturday."Trying to get things rolling, get cash flow rolling and stuff, and then when you lose two or three days of sales and then everybody still expects all their bills have to be paid, rent has to be paid ... if it continues it could be catastrophic, it really could," Crosser said.Crosser says he's sanitized everything and is ready to reopen, but is still waiting for the green light from the city.Bottled water will continue to be distributed at Lake Poway and City Hall from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. PORTLAND, Ore. — A peaceful protest morphed into an intense early morning confrontation between demonstrators and law enforcement in Oregon's largest city.U.S. agents fired what appeared to be tear gas, flash bangs and pepper balls early Monday to clear a mass of protesters outside the federal courthouse in Portland.Some protesters had climbed over the fence surrounding the courthouse. Others shot fireworks, banged on the fence and projected lights on the building.The city has seen nightly protests for about 60 straight days since the death of George Floyd.The Monday morning scene in Portland has become the norm in the city in recent days. Authorities declared a riot in the are of the courthouse on early Sunday morning as some protests breached a gate surrounding the building. The Associated Press reported that six people were arrested.Later on Sunday, Portland police say a person was shot at a park near where the protests take place. Two people were taken into custody in connection with the incident but later released. The person who was shot was later treated at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Portland police also reported Sunday that a bag was found at the same park that contained loaded rifle magazines and Molotov cocktails. It's unclear if the items were related to the protests, and police say the items are not connected with Sunday's shootings.Though protests have continued for weeks in Portland, they've escalated in the past week since the arrival of federal agents. The agents were sent to Portland as part of a directive from President Donald Trump and Acting Sec. of Homeland Security Chad Wolf to prevent the defacement of monuments, statues and federal property.However, both Oregon Gov.
