LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- One former police officer has been charged in the Breonna Taylor case, but that doesn't mean it's the end of investigations.People across the country have been following the case of Taylor's death, and many wanted to see the officers involved face criminal charges. Demonstrations were held Wednesday night in Louisville and other cities after it was announced former Louisville Metro Police Department Detective Brett Hankison's charges of wanton endangerment are not directly related to Taylor's death. Additionally, two officers who fired shots the night Taylor was killed will not face criminal charges. They do still face another investigation, though.The Courier-Journal reports that the Louisville police department is conducting a Professional Standards Unit investigation to determine whether they and four other officers violated police policy or rules during the raid. The results of this internal review could lead to disciplinary action.Also, the FBI is conducting an investigation that could result in civil rights violations.Governor Andy Beshear is calling for the details of the state's investigation to be posted online by Attorney General Daniel Cameron."I trust Kentuckians. They deserve to see the facts for themselves, and I believe that the ability to process those facts helps everybody," said Beshear.Taylor's case is one of many that became a focus in the conversation about police reform. Attorney General Cameron says he'll form a task force to look at Kentucky's search warrants' policies. Michelle Obama's brother Craig Robinson has been named the executive director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.Robinson is leaving his job as the New York Knicks' Vice President of Player Development and Minor League Operations, a position he's held since 2017, to take over for Jim Haney, who held the NABC position for 29 years.“I’m extremely honored and excited for this tremendous and vital opportunity,” said Robinson in a press release. “I’d like to thank the NABC, our Board of Directors, President Jamie Dixon, and the search committee for selecting me at such an important time for our membership, our players, and our game. MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif.(KGTV) - Mammoth Mountain closed Saturday after three people were partially buried in an apparent avalanche.The popular snow resort issued the closure on Twitter, saying the avalanche struck just after 10 a.m. while Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol was performing avalanche hazard mitigation, which could involve structural measures or artificial triggering of high-risk areas."All rescue measures are in place and the mountain is currently closed," officials tweeted.The three individuals partially buried were able to free themselves. Millions of Americans have fallen into poverty waiting for Congress to pass another stimulus package.“It seems like every time we get really, really close, then nothing transpires,” said Elizabeth Pancotti, a policy advisor at Employ America. “There is a sense of urgency within the halls of Congress, but that same urgency was there in July when the 0 top off expired.Pancotti added that in addition to new help from Congress, millions of people may be unaware of programs already in place to help. In fact, those who have lost their job and can’t afford to pay rent should consider three programs many people don’t know about, especially if they have never needed this kind of help before.“The first one is SNAP, or more commonly known as food stamps. That could provide 0 to 0 per week,” explained Pancotti. “The second program is TANF, or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.”It is important to note that SNAP benefits can only be used for food. Additionally, SNAP benefit amounts can vary from state to state and can vary by family size. On average, an individual receives a maximum benefit of around 0 per month, while a family of four can usually receive around 0 per month. However, a family of six can receive around 0 a month and, in some states, every additional family member could add around 0 in benefits a month.TANF is only for families, adults with children, and there is usually a work requirement. Microsoft said in a blog post on Thursday that it has discovered efforts by Iran, China and Russia to launch cyberattacks on the presidential campaigns of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.Tom Burt, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for customer security and trust, wrote that Microsoft was able to stop the cyberattacks from happening, and have notified the campaigns of the three countries’ efforts.“We disclose attacks like these because we believe it’s important the world knows about threats to democratic processes,” Burt wrote. “It is critical that everyone involved in democratic processes around the world, both directly or indirectly, be aware of these threats and take steps to protect themselves in both their personal and professional capacities.
