HUDSON, Florida — People living in a Florida nudist community say they're tired of not getting their mail from the postal service. The nudists at the Eden RV Resort in Hudson say one carrier refuses to deliver mail inside of their community because it makes her uncomfortable. Residents are outraged and are concerned they're missing important pieces of mail."There's a postal creed and it doesn't say anything about them not coming to nudist resorts. I pay for a service, I expect that service," resident Leonard Rusin said. They say this has been going on for months and have even reached out to the carrier's supervisor. The post office says that carrier is doing nothing wrong and is entitled to her right not to deliver mail if she's uncomfortable. 796
How many times do you say, "This weekend I’m going to organize my house," and then don’t? Bart Flerterski is the same way and I showed him how to declutter his house with 5 easy ideas. We began in his basement. That’s where he stores all of his stuff that he doesn’t know what to do with. Bart told me, he likes to avoid this room because it overwhelming. The first tip to declutter your house is to pick one item per day and get rid of it. By sticking to one item, the task of decluttering isn't as daunting.Step two, ask yourself, "Do you love it, do you use it and will you ever use it again?" If you love it and use it, then keep it. If not, get rid of it.If those two steps are too much to handle, start small. Everybody has a junk drawer. Clean out that drawer first and then work your way up to an actual room.Maybe you don’t have a messy basement, but you have a lot of paperwork scattered on your desk. It’s time to organize those papers. Skip the file cabinet and take out your smartphone. Take pictures of every document and store it in the cloud. Last tip, adopt a zero accumulation rule. If you take one item in, then you have to take one item out. 1188

In a stunning announcement to those in preparing to embark into medical school, New York University announced it would offer free tuition to all NYU medical program students — current and future. The reveal came during NYU School of Medicine's annual "White Coat Ceremony," where each new student is presented with a white lab coat to mark the start of their medical education and training. The bold offering is available to all current and future students in NYU's MD degree program, "regardless of need or merit.""Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our trustees, alumni, and friends, our hope — and expectation — is that by making medical school accessible to a broader range of applicants, we will be a catalyst for transforming medical education nationwide," Kenneth G. Langone, Chair of the Board of Trustees of NYU Langone Health, said. The annual tuition costs covered by the scholarship is about ,000.NYU's free tuition initiative began with an endowment. So far, the university has raised more than 0 million of the roughly 0 million needed to fund full-tuition scholarships for all medical students "in perpetuity," according to ABC News.Crushing college debt strikes medical students particularly hard.About 75 percent of all doctors in the U.S. graduated with debt in 2017, the university said. The average cost for a private medical school is about ,605 a year. The median debt of a graduating student comes out to more about 2,000, NYU says."We believe that with our tuition-free initiative, we have taken a necessary, rational step that addresses a critical need to train the most talented physicians, unencumbered by crushing debt," said Robert I. Grossman, the Saul J. Farber Dean of NYU School of Medicine. "We hope that many other academic medical centers will soon choose to join us on this path." 1874
If you're a night owl, you may want to consider spending your winters in northern Alaska.Utqiagvik, Alaska, formerly known as Barrow, experienced its last sunrise and sunset on Sunday for about two months. The town of about 4,000 people is now beginning its 65-day period of darkness, known as polar night.Polar night is a common term in places that don't experience sunrise for more than 24 hours, according to CNN meteorologist Judson Jones."This happens every year," Jones said. "If you live above the Arctic Circle, there will be a day when the sun sets for the rest of winter. The good news? It will return and then during the summer when it won't set for days."The northern third of Alaska lies above the Arctic Circle, the ring of latitude that encircles the frigid Arctic polar region.Although Utqiagvik is not the only Alaskan town to experience this phenomenon, it is the first one on the polar night location list because of how far north it is.For about one to two months, the residents of Kaktovik, Point Hope and Anaktuvuk Pass will also be without the sun. Their final sunsets will happen between late November and early December, according to CNN affiliate KTUU.The sun officially set at 1:43 p.m. Sunday in Utqiagvik, starting its 65-day hiatus from the town. It won't peek above the horizon again until January 23, 2019.The-CNN-Wire 1357
I have been criticized for remarks I made Sunday night about the benefits of convalescent plasma. The criticism is entirely justified. What I should have said better is that the data show a relative risk reduction not an absolute risk reduction.— Dr. Stephen M. Hahn (@SteveFDA) August 25, 2020 303
