SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Emily Lake opened Sisters Pizza in Hillcrest last summer to honor her sister Kate, who passed away at an age too young.Her restaurant features a wall of framed pictures of sisters and people who are like sisters - many who have become regulars at the neighborhood eatery. "People have contributed pictures of them and their sisters, them and their friends, and it's not just women. It's anybody who has a close relationship," Lake says. Lake says business had been going even better than expected, until the coronavirus outbreak. Now, her restaurant and those across the county have been reduced to takeout and delivery. "Being any sort of small business owner, and such a brand new one too, we're just navigating scary waters and doing the best we can," says Lake, who owns the restaurant with her husband Trevor. Lake estimates that 60 to 70 percent of their revenue is gone forever. That's because standard insurance policies do not cover loss of business for viruses and bacteria. "I thought that it would be a force majeure or considered an Act of God, and unfortunately it is not," Lake says. "Even in our catastrophe insurance, which would cover earthquake or other natural disasters, this pandemic is not included."But those in the insurance industry say it's an uncertain situation. That's because businesses aren't contracting or closing because they themselves have become infected. Instead, they are doing so because the government is telling them to. One San Diego insurance broker told 10News businesses should make a claim regardless. If it's denied, so be it. Lake said she'd look into that option."At this point we'll pull out all the stops in order to stay in business," Lake said. Meanwhile, California's Department of Insurance is advising all business owners to contact their insurance companies to go over options. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Green Flash Brewery has been sold to a new investment group, continuing a turbulent start to the year for the San Diego-based brewery.The company announced Monday the finalized sale to the group made up of "individuals with extensive experience" in craft beer and food and beverage industries.In a letter to shareholders published on The Full Pint, CEO Mike Hinkley said the company's lender, Comerica Bank, had "foreclosed on its loans and sold the assets of the company ... to WC IPA LLC."RELATED: National City adopts 'craft beer ordinance' to attract breweriesGreen Flash had reportedly taken on a loan for the development of a Virginia Beach, Va., brewery, which has also closed."As such, the Company no longer owns the Green Flash and Alpine businesses. Comerica Bank is currently conducting a separate process to sell the Virginia Beach brewery," the letter continued.The Virginia brewery closing followed that of Green Flash's Poway barrel-aging facility, Cellar 3, also closing this year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Homeowners in Mission Hills say someone is back to shining a laser pointer into their homes after a several week hiatusNew video from over the weekend a shows someone pointing a laser into a family’s living room.The laser pointer appears to be coming from the same place as it was back in January when 10News first did the story.Daniel Wang lives in Mission Hills and says his living room turned a blueish green on Friday. “The kids were here so luckily they didn’t look directly at the beam,” said Wang, “that’s the only thing to worry about.”Neighbors have filed a police report, but not much progress has been made because the source of the laser appears to be from a common space in an apartment complex.Doctors say lasers can cause blindness and in some cases induce seizures for those who have epilepsy.Shining a laser into another person’s eyes in California is a misdemeanor with a penalty of up to 30 days in jail. 955
