EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested Wednesday morning after police in El Cajon say she reportedly stabbed her grandmother. The department received a 911 call around 10:18 a.m. from a woman who said her grandmother was stabbed during a burglary on the 1200 block of North Mollison Avenue. After officers arrived, they found the woman who appeared to have been stabbed several times. The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. After investigating the stabbing, police determined that the woman’s adult granddaughter, Elektra Del Sol, 19, was responsible for the crime. She was arrested and booked into jail. Due to a coin shortage at the Federal Reserve, Kroger will no longer return coin change to customers. Instead, the remainders from cash transactions can either be donated to charity or applied to the customers' loyalty cards to be used on the next purchase.The change in giving change also applies to subsidiaries of Kroger, including Ralphs, Food 4 Less, King Soopers, Smith's and more. Kroger officials said, "at Kroger, we are implementing several creative solutions to minimize the impact to our customers. We know this is an inconvenience for our customers and we appreciate their patience. The U.S. Mint has slowed production to keep employees safe from the coronavirus. With stay-at-home orders and business shut-downs, fewer people are spending coins at stores, laundromats, vending machines and other places. Walmart and CVS locations have also made changes to encourage customers to use exact change or plastic to pay for their items when possible. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Over two dozen people were displaced Sunday night after a fire ripped through an apartment building on Bradley Avenue in El Cajon. The fire started on the first floor of the building, inside of a unit that was being renovated. Witnesses told 10News they heard a commotion and people screaming there was a fire. Several neighbors say they stepped in to help using buckets of water to put out the flames. Firefighters say the fire appeared to have started inside the walls of the apartment with a plumbers torch that was being used during the renovation. Fire officials say the fire damaged four of the units, displacing 21 adults and 12 children. The Red Cross is providing shelter for the night for those displaced. One of the men working inside the apartment suffered a minor burn on his left hand but told 10News he was okay. 864
