DETROIT — A Melvindale, Michigan, couple passed away on the same day after 56 years of marriage in a true tale of everlasting love.Judy and Will Webb, both 77 years old, died just hours apart while holding hands on March 6, 2019. They spent their final hours together in hospice care after both battling a series of health complications. The Webbs were parents to three daughters and loved their five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. CLEVELAND — Police in northeast Ohio says they've collected multiple handguns in the past month that have been modified to turn the firearm into an automatic weapon.In one case, 20-year-old Toriano Leakes, Jr. of Cleveland was indicted on two counts of illegal possession of a machine gun.Bedford Police say the Glock handgun they confiscated from Leaks' car was modified to include a "select-fire auto sear." The device is also sometimes known as a "select fire switch."According to Justin Herdman, a US Attorney in the Northern District of Ohio, the modified handguns can fire 30 rounds in the span of five to six seconds.“It’s a newer thing hitting the internet because people think it’s cool,” said Assistant Bedford Police Chief Rick Suts.“The second you put that on a gun, it violates the National Firearms Act. It makes it a machine gun which is illegal," he said.Federal authorities say they've seen an increase in the modified handguns and they hope to crack down.“We have seen a significant uptick in people trying to acquire these switches manufactured mostly in China,” Herdman said. "...a message is being sent. If you have a machine gun in the Northern District of Ohio, we are going to prosecute you federally."The push is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at violent crime. 1319

DETROIT — It's a video that has gone viral. A man running with deer in Oak Park, Michigan. It's like a moment straight out of a movie. "This is my parade," said Jared Wein in the viral video. "These are my pets. Sunday morning fun run!”Wein is now becoming known as the "Deer Whisperer.""I’ve heard deer whisperer," he said. "I’ve heard 'the next Disney princess.' "And really, how else can you explain Wein's wildlife magnetism?"Whenever I would stop, they would stop too, and then when I run they were running," Wein said.He was running from Royal Oak to Southfield to visit his wife at work. Wein saw the deer 20 feet away but never imagined they would join the run."I had no food on me," Wein said. "I may have smelled like salt from sweat but no food.""The deer’s behavior indicates to me (it's) used to people and that’s not necessarily a good thing to have regular contact with people," said Holly Vaughn, who works with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. She also cautions other people who may see deer in non-wildlife settings."Male deer especially can become aggressive toward people," Vaughn said. Wein says he feels very lucky."They never seemed aggressive," Wein said. "They seemed more curious than anything else."It’s a run he will never forget."I almost never run with my phone because I was meeting my wife," Wein said.
