China has shouldered its international responsibilities and strengthened collaboration and solidarity with Africa in the fight against COVID-19, global experts say.
China is expected to disclose key clues to the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), the nation's social and economic development blueprint, for the next five years, after a top-level meeting scheduled for Oct 26 to 29.
China has taken an active part in seeking political settlement of international and regional hotspots. It has played a constructive role in addressing issues like the Korean nuclear issue, the Iranian nuclear issue, Syria, Afghanistan and the Middle East.
China has sufficient policy tools and new measures to further optimize its foreign trade structure and deepen ties with new markets, especially those involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, in the second half of the year, a senior customs official said on Friday.
China is pushing competitiveness in its domestic markets by opening them further to foreign competition - thus forcing Chinese companies to step up independent innovation and industrial upgrading. At the Boao Forum in March, Premier Li Keqiang explained China will not resort to massive stimulus to boost growth, but will continue to open up and innovate to energize market players.
