Mark Anthony Conditt, who police say was behind a wave of bombings in Austin and south-central Texas, killed himself early Wednesday in what investigators described as an explosion inside his car, leaving them scrambling to determine whether any bombs remain and if he acted alone.Federal agents went to the bomber's home Wednesday while police interviewed his roommates.Fred Milanowski, the special agent in charge for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' Houston office, said one room in the house had components for making similar bombs to the ones that exploded in a string of incidents this month. There was also similar homemade explosive material in the room.No finished bombs were found, he said.Conditt detonated a bomb in his vehicle before dawn on the side of Interstate 35 in Round Rock, north of Austin, as police approached him, authorities said.Even in announcing his death, though, police warned a wary public not to let down their guard."We don't know where this suspect has spent his last 24 hours, and therefore we still need to remain vigilant to ensure that no other packages or devices have been left throughout the community," Austin police Chief Brian Manley said. 1221

Schroeder is declaring a state of emergency for the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) as they wait for Attorney General Daniel Cameron's decision whether or not to indict the officers in the Breonna Taylor case.The department has canceled all off days and vacation requests until further notice."The public may also see barriers being staged around downtown, which is another part of our preparations," Sgt. Lamont Washington said in the statement. "It is important to note that the AG has no timetable for the announcement."Taylor, a 26-year-old emergency medical worker, was killed by Louisville police serving a "no-knock" narcotics search warrant at her apartment. They found no drugs in her home. The city announced a settlement with the Taylor family last week that included a million payment and changes to department policies.An officer was shot during the raid by Taylor's boyfriend, who has said he thought he was defending against a home invasion. The boyfriend was initially charged, but those charges were later dropped.The Louisville Metro Police Department fired one of the officers involved, Brett Hankison, in June, saying he violated procedures by showing "extreme indifference to the value of human life." LUBBOCK, TX — A 9-year-old girl from Texas who has been missing since 2016 was found safely on Monday after the story of her disappearance was featured on the television show "Live PD".Mariah Martinez was last seen on October 18, 2016, when she was taken from her home in Lubbock, Texas.On Friday night, the A&E show had a segment that chronicled the events that led to Mariah's disappearance. According to Fox News, Mariah's mother, Amanda, was close to losing custody of her three children and decided to take them and flee instead of going to court.A court order was issued after Amanda’s boyfriend allegedly punched Mariah's 5-year-old brother in the nose and threatened to kill the family by driving their car into a pond.The Live PD segment explained that in January 2017, police were tipped off about the family's whereabouts. Police found Amanda and two of the children, but not Mariah.The mother was arrested on felony charges, but Mariah's whereabouts remained a mystery.The television program ended by asking viewers to contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children if they knew anything.NCMEC posted to Facebook on Tuesday that Mariah was found in New Mexico following a viewer’s tip.The Lubbock Police Department also released a statement saying they were thankful to NCMEC for helping find Mariah.  1398
