SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man who reportedly threatened to “kill all the gays and children” at the San Diego Pride parade was charged with three bank robberies after authorities linked him to both the threats and the robberies. According to authorities, Andre Lafayette Holmes was linked to three bank robberies in San Diego County spanning from 2016 to 2019 after reportedly making the threats against Pride. FBI agents identified Holmes following threats he made to Pride organizers on July 10, 2019, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s office. In the first of two late-morning calls to organizers of the parade, the caller said: : “I think I’m going to have to kill all the gays and the children.” He then repeated, “I’m going to have to kill the f------ and children.” The employee asked, “Sir, what’s your name?” The caller replied: “I don’t like them” and “I hate the f------," the U.S. Attorney's office says. Authorities say he then hung up the phone before calling again about four minutes later, stating: “F--- Donald Trump. I hate Hillary. I hate f---. I’m going to shoot up the Pride event.” San Diego Police were able to track Holmes down near Miramar College using his cellphone. After searching his vehicle and home, investigators found evidence linking him to the bank robberies, including a semi-automatic pistol, a rubber “old man” mask, a large bag of cash and clothes believed to have been worn by the bank robber. Holmes is accused of robbing a US Bank on Campo Road in Spring Valley on November 4, 2016; Mission Federal Credit Union in San Diego on June 14, 2018, and California Bank and Trust on Fifth Avenue, also in San Diego, on June 28, 2019. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A local business owner is warning others about a phony debt restructuring company that he said cost him thousands of dollars.Hugh Herrera owns Pacific Beach Vinyl."What we're selling is music, which is one of the uplifting things of life," Herrera said.A couple years ago, Herrera needed help managing his debt with the business. After a situation with a lender, he eventually turned to what he thought was a legitimate debt restructuring company. He received a solicitation in the mail and gave the company a call."It sounded like something viable to me," Herrera said.He started working with Corporate Restructure, Inc. He said he paid about 0 a week."In the end, the net result, we'd pay about half of whatever we owed through making weekly payments to this firm," Herrera said.  Instead, Herrera said Corporate Restructure took about ,000 and ran."They just disappeared. Couldn't get a hold of them," Herrera said.According to news releases from the Department of Justice in New York, the men behind Corporate restructure faced dozens of charges related to bank and mail fraud. The news release dated late last year said there were approximately 200 victims that lost a total of .2 million."Somebody should really look out for predatory-type people, obviously, because that's what happened to us," Herrera said.He is now working to pay off his existing debt after he learned an expensive lesson."Things are looking better. Light at the end of the tunnel," Herrera said.Herrera started a GoFundMe campaign, which has helped keep the business afloat. He has hopes of getting some of his money back after the criminal proceedings in his case are finished.The Federal Trade Commission recommends people to contact creditors directly for assistance with debt. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A local businessman is now accused in a child porn case, several years after he managed to get off the sex offender registry.Along Tokalon Street in Bay Park, there is a sense of disbelief. A neighbor of some 7 years - Joseph Welsh - arrested in Fontana over the weekend.Police say parents confronted him and took his phone after he took photos of girls in bathing suits at a birthday party.Search warrants executed at his home and his business - a Segway rental outlet on Mission Boulevard - netted several electronic devices containing child porn, according to investigators.The neighbors' sense of shock was magnified because of what they didn't know about his past: a conviction in the 1990s in San Bernardino county for possessing child porn, and annoyance of a child.Police say in 2014, the courts deemed him not a danger to the public and removed him from the registry.It's a maneuver many can't understand.An acquaintance of Welsh, 47, told 10News those who worked near him became "creeped out" because he was always photographing surf schools and flying drones on the beach.In one instance, concerns led to an acquaintance to warn a teenager who knew Welsh to stay away from him.To search the California Megan's Law website for registry results, click here. 1308

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man who is accused of falling asleep drunk with a lit cigarette, starting a Rancho Bernardo fire that killed his two children in 2017, has been sentenced to nearly 13 years in prison.Henry Lopez was convicted last September of involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment, and recklessly starting the fire that killed 7-year-old Isabella and 10-year-old Cristos.Wednesday, victim impact statements were read aloud — including a statement by Lopez — before the judge sentenced Lopez to 12 years and eight months behind bars.“[The] defendant has completely and utterly failed to accept the consequences of his actions. These horrible deaths were completely avoidable. The defendants actions caused a lot of pain. Prosecutors say Lopez fell asleep with a lit cigarette that likely made contact with a defective cell phone, sparking the blaze. Lopez woke up to find his home on fire and tried to escape but passed out from the smoke, fire investigators said.His two children died in the blaze. Investigators say Cristos was burned to death and Isabella passed out from smoke inhalation and never woke up.Throughout the sentencing hearing Wednesday, heated moments erupted from Lopez's ex-wife and even one of the jurors."I told you if you continued on this path of reckless behavior something bad was going to happen.
