A bond has been set for a man accused of chasing after and shooting at a Rochester teen seeking directions to school. Jeff Ziegler, a former lieutenant in the Detroit Fire Department, was arraigned on felony charges of being in possession of a firearm and assault with intent to murder. His bond was set at ,000.According to Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Collins, Ziegler has a previous weapons conviction from 2005.  The judge additionally ordered the Rochester man to not have direct contact with the victim or his family, and to surrender all of his weapons to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department. He must also wear a GPS tether and attend mental health counseling two days a week. Because the suspect stays within a 10 mile radius of the victim, the judge ordered that if bond is made, he will be required to find another place to live. When 14-year-old Brennan Walker missed the bus and tried to walk to school Friday morning, he got lost after he couldn't remember the route. That's when Walker attempted to ask for directions at a nearby home.Zeigler allegedly chased after Walker and fired a shot because he and his wife believed the 14-year-old was attempting to break into their home, according to a press release.    1319

A heartbreaking social media post by the brother of James Eric Davis Jr., the man who police say shot his parents to death inside of his Central Michigan University dorm room Friday is asking for compassion and support for his younger brother.“To the media and opinionated people... Please don’t make a villain of my brother... that is NOT who he is... and despite the circumstances, he also lost a mother and father... And I LOVE him. Consider that!,” wrote Russell Matthew Davis on his Facebook page.“Never thought I’d have to post this type of post... but unfortunately the news is true. My mom and dad both rest from their life of labor and stress in a very tragic event,” he wrote.Davis Jr. has been charged with two counts of murder and a weapons charge in the shootings of his father, Eric Davis Sr., and mother, Diva Davis.Davis Jr.’s parents had come to the university Friday to pick up their son from the hospital and take him back to their hometown in Illinois for Spring Break.  Their son had acted so strangely the night before, that University police suspected he was on drugs and admitted him to a hospital in Mt. Pleasant. The shooting occurred on the 4th floor of Davis. Jr.’s dorm room in Campbell Hall as his parents were packing up his belongings. A 16-hour manhunt and university lockdown ensued before Davis Jr.’s capture.Russell Mathew Davis said on his post that he’s pursuing a doctorate in faith and “THIS is my examination!!”RELATED STORIES: 1480

A doctored animation of Parkland shooting survivor Emma Gonzalez ripping the US Constitution in two went viral on social media after Gab, a so-called "free speech social network" that features the controversial Pepe the Frog as its account image, posted it on Twitter. The tweet gathered 1,500 retweets and 2,900 likes and only after a few hours did Gab specify the fake animation was "obviously a parody/satire."The original animation is from a Teen Vogue story released March 23 featuring Gonzalez and other teen activists, as Allure & Teen Vogue communications director Jaime Ellyn Marsanico confirmed to CNN. It shows Gonzalez ripping a target poster, not the Constitution.Teen Vogue chief content officer, Phillip Picardi, also set the record straight on Twitter:"The fact that we even have to clarify this is proof of how democracy continues to be fractured by people who manipulate and fabricate the truth," Picardi said. The most popular debunk was from Donald Moynihan, a professor at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, who said: "Just a sample of what NRA supporters are doing to teenagers who survived a massacre (real picture on the right)":However, this series of debunks did not stop the fake image from going viral, crossing platforms, websites and blogs. For example, actor Adam Baldwin, who has a verified account on Twitter, tweeted the doctored animation to his 270,000 followers. The tweet was still online at the time of writing.Over the past few weeks, Gonzalez has become the face of the #NeverAgain movement that flooded Washington, D.C. and other American cities over the weekend for the March for Our Lives rally. Her iconic speech in Washington, which included a prolonged moment of silence, is the latest in a series of appearances that made the 18-year-old a popular household name since a gunman killed 17 people on February 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. But her gun-control activism also attracted a smear campaign and personal attacks from conservative figures and far-right fringes. 2061

A childhood baseball glove lost 40 years ago made its way from a family’s hometown in Ohio to a Goodwill store in Palm Beach County, Florida.“I just walked in and there sitting on the edge of a shelf on the bottom shelf was this mitt, sitting so that I could see the name, 'Christopher Lisi' on it," Julie Anne Lisi said.Julie Anne and Mike Lisi, from Ohio, are spending time in their home in Tequesta this month. They were visiting Goodwill in Jupiter on Indiantown Road for senior day on Wednesday when Julie Anne spotted the mitt with her son's name on it in his own handwriting. She also noticed her own handwriting just inside of it."My knees got wobbly and I got weak and scared," Julie Anne said.An emotional Julie Anne called over her husband to show him her discovery."She was in tears, shaking then she showed me the glove and I understood," Mike said.Julie Anne took a picture of the glove and texted it to her son Christopher."He texted back, 'Buy it,'” she said.Sue Rounds, a cashier at Goodwill, rung up the priceless childhood mitt for .49."A lady came to the register and I asked her and I said, 'How are you?' She said, 'I’m shaking,'" Rounds said. "I said. 'What’s wrong?' She said, 'The glove!'”The biggest question now is how did the mitt end up at a Jupiter Goodwill? After it turned up, Christopher told his parents he lost it after a championship baseball game in 1978 when he was 12 years old. He had hit two home runs during that game. He lost the glove afterward and hadn't seen it since.“He had won the championship and in the hullaballoo and the handing out of trophies he probably set it down on a bench and somebody walked away with it," Mike said.Julie Anne said she has donated to Goodwill before, but she has only donated used books. Even then, she's donated those up in Ohio because that's where their longtime house, and subsequent clutter from over the years, is located. A Goodwill representative said the company doesn't track specific items, but they do move them from store to store if they're not selling.Julie Anne hopes to figure out how exactly the glove made its way down the country.“To me, it’s a miracle," Julie Anne said. 2190

A Las Vegas, Nevada woman says she wants out of her apartment lease after a series of unexplained events.Terri Bell says she moved into her Patriots Place Apartment in December 2017 located near Flamingo and Pecos Road. She signed a 12-month lease but soon after she moved in she claims strange things started to happen."At first, I thought maybe it was just my daughter or my grandkids moving through the house," said Bell.Bell says she finally had enough when an object in her apartment moved without explanation. Bell claims a new bottle of bleach came off a shelf and hit a near by wall."It got outrageous, lights were going on and off," said Bell. "Behind the sofa, there's an outlet where sparks flew and fire shout out of it!" explained Bell.Bell enlisted the help of a Catholic priest, a pastor and a paranormal investigator to look into her apartment.KTNV television station in Las Vegas spoke to Pastor Tony Peoples from the Genesis II Christian Center and he confirms he visited the apartment and sensed something was out of the ordinary.Psychic medium Tena Evans along with Paranormal Task Force was contacted to conduct an investigation."Our monitors were hitting max and that is unusual," said Evans.Evans says a team of people inspected the apartment and found evidence of possible paranormal activity."What you do have to be is a skeptic going into a job like this," explained Evans. You just can't assume it's going to be a spirit and you are going to capture it," said Evans.Evans says voice and sound recordings did not capture anything unusual during the investigation."We have to look for electrical problems or certain plumbing problems," said Evans. However, photos taken within the apartment show possible signatures of paranormal evidence, according to Evans."Orbs are sometimes just dust, it can be anything, different lights, whatever is going on," said Evans. "These orbs are big and it is evident that this is not something that the camera or lighting, or dust is creating," said Evans.Evans believes the phenomenon are associated with the land and not the building.KTNV consulted with Mark Hall-Patton, who is the administrator for Clark County Museum and expert on Clark County History about the parcel of land."There wasn't a lot going on," said Hall-Patton about the area going back as far as ancient times.Indigenous people likely avoided the desolate and arid landscape in favor or more accessible water sources and fertile farming land, according to Hall-Patton.Hall-Patton points to maps, satellite views and deeds dating back to 1970 which shows the lot was vacant."It's a fairly anonymous little chunk of land that didn't develop until relatively recently," added Hall-Patton.Hall-Patton says there was no significant historical event that occurred on the property.Bell began using black salt, sage and various types of crystals to keep her unit nice and quiet.Ultimately, Bell would like to move out of her apartment. Contact 13 reviewed the lease and it did not contain an option to break the contract early for her situation.Apartment ownership, Accessible Space, Inc., said there is likely a plausible and mechanical explanation for the strange occurrences. A spokesperson tells KTNV the building is new and still under warranty. Power problems, odors and unfamiliar noises are common in new buildings but management will have the general contractor investigate the claims to make sure everything is in order. The building's ownership says they will work with Bell to make sure she understands her options. 3615
