Despite a prenatal condition that left him without a hand, Shaquem Griffin has always dreamed of playing in the NFL. On Saturday the Seattle Seahawks made that dream a reality — and gave Griffin the unique opportunity to play alongside his twin brother.Griffin was born a few minutes after his brother in 1995 with amniotic band syndrome. The condition left him with an underdeveloped hand that caused him severe pain, and Griffin later had his entire left hand amputated.Despite the setback, Griffin took up football and still routinely dominated opponents at Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg. When he signed to play collegiately at Central Florida in 2013, recruiting service Rivals listed him as a 3-star prospect.Griffin and his brother, Shaquill Griffin, continued stellar play together in college. Shaquill left UCF a year early and was drafted by the Seahawks in 2017. While Shaquill played in the NFL, Shaquem stayed behind and lead the Knights to an undefeated season at linebacker, recording 74 tackles, an interception and a fumble return for a touchdown.At the NFL Combine earlier this year, Shaquem stunned scouts by bench pressing 225 pounds 20 times while wearing a prosthetic hand. Details emerged about what happened to a Port St. Lucie, Florida woman and her boyfriend, both found murdered in their homes in February. A third body was also found in a car nearby, adding to the mystery.On Wednesday afternoon, St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara announced a new development about what happened along Oleander Avenue. "I call this the Case of Cardiac Karma," said Sheriff Mascara.Confirming a theory long suspected by neighbors and family, detectives say 61-year old Melvin "Chip" Anderson stabbed 56-year old Gabriele Legg to death and then killed her boyfriend before suffering from a heart attack while fleeing the crime scene."Karma is terrible thing," said Mascara. All three bodies were found within a mile of each other around Oleander Avenue corridor. RELATED:?Man who found the first of three bodies in St. Lucie County describes shocking discoveryAt 9:50 a.m. on Feb. 28, deputies responded to a single car crash at the intersection of Oleander Avenue and Beach Avenue and found Anderson in distress. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.“We have previously released that Chip Anderson died as a result of natural causes,” said Mascara. “Toxicology results have returned and indicated no presence of drugs or alcohol and his final cause of death has been ruled a heart attack.”At 9:58 a.m. that morning, deputies then responded to 606 Ash Avenue and found Legg dead inside her garage and wrapped in a rug. “Her cause of death has been contributed to multiple stab wounds,” Mascara said.Legg was Anderson's aunt by marriage."She was the primary figure in Chip Anderson's life. Both on an emotional and financial standpoint," Sheriff Mascara said. "It is very clear that Chip relied on Gabriele very immensely."Deputies also confirmed that Anderson worked with Legg in her painting business.“We don’t believe there was any sort of romantic relationship between them, but it’s clear that Gabriele was very important to Chip," said Mascara.The sheriff said Anderson lived with Legg and stayed in the house with her body for days. It is believed she was killed around Feb. 19."We believe she was killed in a bedroom. He kept her in that bedroom for sometime, and then dragged her through the house. Because of his heart condition, he couldn't make it all the way to the garage," said Mascara.Days later, Anderson then killed Legg's boyfriend, Gary Boice, in his own home by shooting him to death with Boice's own gun."Boice and Legg were in a relationship and were in the process of moving in together in Boice's home," said Mascara.Anderson stole Boice's car after the shooting, but as he drove away he suffered a heart attack."There was evidence that in the days after he stabbed Gabrielle, he went to the pharmacy to get heart medicine," said Mascara. Detectives also confirmed a motive."He was so angry about his emotional support system and financial support system leaving him, moving in with Gary Boice -- really they were kicking him to the sidewalk and didn't want him to be a part of this new relationship," said Mascara.According to the Sheriff, detectives found a .45 caliber Glock handgun on Anderson’s body and ballistics analysis has matched this gun to the casings found at Boice’s home.This case is now closed. 3310

DENVER (AP) — Authorities have arrested a Colorado man they say held two roofing-company salesmen at gunpoint who had been knocking on doors in his neighborhood. Police told KUSA-TV that both salesmen were wearing blue polo shirts with a local roofing company logo when Scott Gudmundsen forced them to the ground Thursday. The 65-year-old Gudmundsen told police he thought they were members of a far-left-leaning group known as Antifa. Police determined the two workers were doing nothing wrong and arrested Gudmundsen. In a letter, Colorado State University university president Joyce McConnell, athletic director Joe Parker, and head football coach Steve Addazio addressed the situation."Our student is a young man of color, while the perpetrator is white," the letter read. "Regardless of what investigators learn or reasons the perpetrator gives, we know this: Our student got up Thursday morning, worked out with his team, then showered, dressed, and went to work. Hours later, he was facing a stranger with a gun and hearing police sirens that had been inexplicably called on him. DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) -- A Del Mar man is recovering at a La Jolla hospital after he was run over in an alley as he walked home from a bar. Ben Nelson's father, Bruce, said he got a call from investigators telling him his son had been hit and apparently dragged several feet. The driver took off without calling for help. Nelson was found at least an hour after the crash happened. Nelson suffered a broken pelvis, fibula, tibia and femur. Fortunately, he did not suffer any brain or spine injuries. There are surveillance cameras that point towards the alley, but Nelson's friends and families are hopeful whoever hurt their loved one is caught or turns themselves in. DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) — While concerts are on hiatus during the pandemic, the Del Mar Fairgrounds will host several "concerts in your car" this fall.Acts including Dirty Heads, DJ Snoopadelic (aka Snoop Dogg), Slightly Stoopid, The Beach Boys, and more will take the stage at Del Mar between Sept. 25 and Nov. 1. Concerts will be held on a high, theater-in-the-round style, four-sided stage to give concertgoers a view of the show from any direction.Ticket prices for vehicles range based on the concert and which color-coded section you select. Many of the concerts start at per car for the furthest section from the stage. Large video screens have been added to each side of the stage.Passengers must not exceed the number of seats and seat belts in a vehicle, according to the concert series' producer.
