A man with autism who is well known in his community says he is now scared after he was tackled and arrested by a Temple (Texas) PD officer. According to the Temple Police Department, around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers received a call about a man walking in and out of traffic near an intersection. Police say the caller reported that the person, later identified as 30-year-old Sergei Hall, was acting erratically by flailing his arms and yelling. The caller reported she was exiting Planet Fitness when she saw Hall in the parking lot, and that his behavior made her fear for her safety. As she exited the parking lot, she told police Hall walked in front of her car and stopped, causing her to brake abruptly to avoid hitting him. Hall explains he was minding his business, waiting at this corner in Temple to cross the road for a sweet tea"I was just walking down the street with my music on, just doing my own thing, and then this officer just came out of no where, he just came, like I didn't even see him, and he kind of spooked me," he said.Police say Officer Jacob Perkins arrived on scene and made contact with Hall at an intersection near a private driveway in front of Temple Mall.Police say Officer Perkins requested that Hall step away from the intersection to speak with him, but Hall walked away from the officer and into the roadway.That's when Hall says the officer grabbed him."And he kind of just threw me against the ground, and my face, my face hit the ground hard, like, my face smashed the ground," he recalled.Police say since it was dark with heavy traffic, and there have been three recent incidents of pedestrians being struck by vehicles, Officer Perkins pulled him out of the roadway, took him to the ground in a nearby grassy area, and arrested him for evading.People watching were horrified. "I seen the cop run and tackle him. He hadn't done anything," said Dezja Wedderburn, who witnessed Hall's arrest.</p><p>"I told the officer I wanted to go home and that it wasn't my fault, and he told me I had to go to jail last night," Hall said while choking back tears.Hall was booked for evading arrest by the Temple Police Department."It makes me feel like I wish more people understood me," Hall said.Hall carries a puzzle piece to symbolize he has autism. Many think the officer missed the mark. "For the officer to do it that way, I just think it was uncalled for, and it makes me not want to trust the officers in Temple," said Erin Gonzalez, a friend of Hall's."They need to retrain, retrain, retrain, retrain. They need to be retrained on a lot of stuff," said Wedderburn.Known from walking everywhere he goes, Hall's concerned about stepping out. "I worry about, I don't want to go out there because I don't want them to bother me because and I'm kind of worried about them now," he said.But this incident doesn't take away from his self-love."I'm proud I have autism, because people are special that have differences," said Hall.It also doesn't take away from his love for all for Temple."I wish the best for all of you because I love everybody and just to let you know my name is Sergei, thank you," he said. The Temple Police Department says there are policies in place specifically addressing officer interactions with people who have special needs. American rock climber Brad Gobright has died after a fall in northern Mexico.The incident happened Wednesday at Sendero Luminoso in El Potrero Chico, the nation's civil protection agency said. Gobright, 31, of Orange County, California, was with a climbing partner when he fell nearly 985 feet.Rescuers retrieved his body Thursday and treated his climbing partner, Aidan Jacobson, for injuries to his ankle and other parts of his body.A fellow climber and a friend of the partner said Jacobson told him their rope got stuck, causing them to both fall 20-30 feet to the ledge below.Jacobson crashed into a bush, which broke his fall and stopped him from tumbling farther. "It pretty much saved his life," the friend, Ryan Borys, said. Jacobson told him he saw Gobright fall past him and over the ledge.The State Department confirmed Gobright's death in Mexico. "We offer our sincerest condolences to his family on their loss. We are closely monitoring local authorities' investigation and are providing all appropriate consular assistance. A mother has been arrested and charged after workers at a day care center in Sandusky, Ohio, found bruises on her 4-year-old child. Loryn Smith, 21, was arrested after daycare workers at Kiddie Korral noticed her 4-year-old son had visible injuries on his body, according Sandusky police. On Wednesday, after the boy arrived at the daycare center, staff members noticed he had two visible bruises on his left arm. When asked where the bruises came from, the boy told staff they came from his mother, police said. The boy told daycare staff that Smith had struck him multiple times with a belt and a shoe and asked for an ice pack for his injuries. The workers then took the boy into a private room and asked him where he was in pain. He showed them bruises, scratches, swelling and several superficial lacerations on his legs and arms, according to police. Staff at Kiddie Korral then contacted Erie County Children's Services.After further investigation into the boy’s injuries, bruises, welts and superficial lacerations were found on his legs, buttocks and lower back. Purple and red bruises were found on the boy's thigh, hip and inner groin. The boy told Children's Services that he had been hit “a lot” by Smith and that she has told him to “stop being bad,” according to police. Children's Services staff told daycare workers the boy would not be released to Smith and he was transported to a nearby hospital due to the pain he was in. After locating Smith, she told police that she did hit her son but that it was disciplinary. Smith was arrested and charged with endangering children, felonious assault and domestic violence. Police transported Smith to the Erie County Jail where she is currently being held. 1731

About 130,464 pounds of raw ground beef products have been recalled because they may contain plastic, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Thursday.The products subject to the recall are 16-oz vacuum sealed packages of "Nature's Rancher 100% Grass Fed Organic Ground Beef 85% Lean, 15% Fat" and "Nature's Rancher 100% Grass Fed Organic Ground Beef 93% Lean, 7% Fat," the USDA said.These products, recalled by Rastelli Foods Group, have use or freeze by dates of 10/24/19, 10/31/19, 11/04/19, 11/07/19, and 11/11/19.The products were sent to distribution centers and then retail locations in Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois and Maryland.The recall was initiated by customer complaints, though there have been no confirmed adverse reactions from the products, the USDA said.The USDA said consumers who have purchased the beef should not consume it, and anyone concerned about illness should contact a healthcare provider. 990
