ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities are offering a large reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect accused in an arson attack on a mosque in Escondido. The FBI announced the ,000 reward at a news conference Thursday. The FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as well as local authorities are investigating the incident. ESCONDIDO (CNS) - A man was stabbed in Mountain View Park Sunday, police said.He was taken to a hospital at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, but the extent of his injuries was unknown, Lt. Facebook and Instagram were both having issues as users reported problems with the social media sites early Tuesday morning. According to downdetector.com,  the East coast is reporting the most problems with Facebook in the United States, but issues are being reported globally as well. This is the second time this month users from all over have reported Facebook being down.Instagram users were also reporting problems, according to downdetector.com.Some of the problems with Facebook included not being able post status updates, the page not loading at all or loading very slow, not being able to send messages over Facebook's separate Messenger app and some saying they received an error message indicating the site was doing maintenance, among other issues.Instagram users reported the app not loading and showing an error message.Some people were able to access Facebook or Instagram, or both, later in the morning and without problems. ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) - A brush fire broke out in Escondido’s Kit Carson Park Friday, sending a plume of smoke above the area. The flames started just before noon in a riverbed of the park at 3333 Bear Valley Parkway near Westfield North County mall, Escondido Fire reported. At least 10 engines and a firefighting helicopter responded to the scene to put out the fire in brush and trees. No structures were threatened because winds were blowing the flames away from nearby homes.By 2 p.m., the fire's forward rate of progress was stopped with two acres burned and 80 percent containment.San Pasqual High and LR Green elementary schools were briefly put on lockdown to safely keep students inside during the firefighting efforts.The North County Transit District rerouted its BREEZE route 350 to the mall because police and fire personnel blocked its route for firefighting efforts. Federal health officials reported Thursday an additional 109 cases of cyclospora infection in an ongoing outbreak linked to McDonald's salads that began in May.The total number of laboratory-confirmed illnesses from this outbreak is now 395, according to a?statement from the US Food and Drug Administration. At least 16 of the sick individuals have been hospitalized.The cyclospora parasite causes intestinal illness in people who consumed contaminated food or water. Symptoms can begin a week or more after consuming the parasite. They include diarrhea and frequent, sometimes explosive bowel movements, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Those who are infected might also experience loss of appetite, weight loss, stomach cramps or pain, nausea, gas and fatigue. Vomiting, headache, fever, body aches and flu-like symptoms can also occur.The illness can last a few days to a few months, and patients might feel better but then get worse again. Cyclosporiasis can be treated with antibiotics.Illnesses have been reported in 15 states: Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. However, the patients in Connecticut, Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia bought their salads in Illinois while traveling, and the Florida patient bought the salad in Kentucky.The FDA said an unused package of a Fresh Express salad mix of romaine lettuce and carrots that had been distributed to McDonald's tested positive for the presence of Cyclospora though it was past its July 19 expiration date."Epidemiologic evidence indicates that salads purchased from McDonald's restaurants are one likely source of these infections.
