BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — A large area of Boulder County, including the towns of Jamestown and Ward, are under a mandatory evacuation order after two new wildfires sparked over the weekend.The 8,788-acre Calwood Fire started Saturday and is burning near the Cal-Wood Education Center in the Jamestown area. Officials Sunday night confirmed that 26 homes were lost to the fire, so far, mostly on the eastern side of the fire along Mountain Ridge Drive and Foothills Ranch Drive. No injuries were reported.The Calwood Fire was about 15% contained as of Sunday night. The most concerning area of the fire was the northern ridge of the fire area, due to the steep, rocky terrain and dry fuels, officials said.On Sunday, a new wildfire, dubbed the Lefthand Canyon Fire, started in the 14000 block of Lefthand Canyon Drive near the town of Ward. It has charred 312 acres as of Sunday night. Crews were still battling the fire Sunday but had contained the blaze north of Lefthand Canyon Drive.Smoke from both fires can be seen throughout most of Boulder and the surrounding area.The Boulder County fires prompted authorities to send out pre-evacuation notices to thousands of residents nearby, including people in the town of Lyons. In the Calwood Fire, there are 1,600 homes and 2,600 structures total in the evacuation area, and around 3,000 people impacted.Several roads are closed, including County Road 87, and officials evacuated Hall Ranch and Heil Valley trails.The map below shows the areas under an evacuation or pre-evacuation order:There is an evacuation check-in point for the Calwood Fire set up at 3460 N. Broadway where evacuees and pets can go to check-in and receive further information.The evacuation point for the Lefthand Canyon Fire is the Nederland Community Center, 750 Peak to Peak Hwy.Boulder County Sheriff Division Chief Mark Wagner said the number of homes lost or damaged in the fire is likely "very large."Wagner said a massive air attack Saturday helped contain the Calwood Fire. However, unfavorable weather conditions Sunday grounded aircraft. At least 250 firefighters are on the ground fighting the blaze.The Calwood Fire has become Boulder County's largest wildfire on record.County and Forest Service investigators are investigating the cause of the Calwood Fire. Bob Seger fans are still dealing with the fallout from his Fall 2017 tour.The heartland rocker wasn't able to perform for medical reasons; a big disappointment for Arizona fan Monica Harty."One of those concerts you wanna see before you die--this was one of them," she says.But after months of waiting for the show to be rescheduled, she decided to ask StubHub for her money back."They said 'well we have a placeholder date,'" Harty says.  But that date was well over a year away and with 6 on the line, Harty was not willing to wait.  Didn't matter. She says she was told, "It still shows in our system that a concert is coming and we don't have to refund.""I said well that doesn't seem exactly right."But it was. Because Seger's shows were postponed---not canceled. Which makes a big difference in the world of ticket selling.  StubHub--where Monica bought hers--has a no refund policy for: "postponed events, partial performances, line-up changes, or venue, date, or time changes."What if she couldn't be there on some random future date?She even filed a dispute with her credit card company. It was denied.Yep, Bob Seger himself would have to officially cancel the concert for Harty to see that money again.The other option?"Well you can go ahead and resell the tickets that you have on our site," she says. "How do I sell something that doesn't exist?"None of it made sense to Harty so she let me know.A spokesperson for StubHub said: Postponed events "typically are re-scheduled quickly. Bed Bath and Beyond said on Wednesday it plans on closing approximately 200 locations nationwide over the next two years.The news comes after the company temporarily closed 90% of its locations nationwide during the coronavirus pandemic, which resulted in a 77% drop of in-store sales in the spring quarter of 2020.Bed Bath and Beyond said the move to close 200 locations will right-size its real estate portfolio. A new trade agreement to manage that trade kicks in this week. “You know, we were doing anywhere between 30 and 30 plus billion dollars worth of cross border trade here in the last five, six, seven years, I think that that number is only poised to increase," Jaime Chamberlain told KGUN. Chamberlain owns Chamberlain Distributing, a packing house that brings tons of produce from Mexico and he chairs the port authority for Santa Cruz County, Arizona. The USMCA, the US, Mexico, Canada Agreement that officially kicks in this week replaces NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement and does things like modernizing record keeping for the digital age.Chamberlain says cross border trade does not mean U.S. jobs going to Mexico. He says, It’s a two-way highway that helps both sides.“There's a tremendous amount of American products going into Mexico. In fact, the majority of the raw products going into make a lot of the products coming out of Mexico especially out of the Maquila industry are American based companies that are supplying that raw product into Mexico.”Josh Rubin’s company Javid LLC/Javid De Mexico operates many of those Maquilas--factories U.S. companies operate in Mexico. He says, “I represent 27 different facilities over 3500 employees here in Nogales, Mexico, for our customers.”Customs charges are based on where a product is made.
