Workers based in more expensive parts of the country are paid higher salaries to compensate for the higher cost of living.In his letter, Trump wrote the locality increase in 2019 would average 25.70% and cost the federal government billion. But he did not say whether the locality adjustments already in place would remain in effect and the White House did not immediately clarify.Pay for military personnel will not be affected by Trump's decree; instead, US troops are due a 2.6% pay increase next year. Trump frequently trumpets the military pay raise while listing his administration's accomplishments. Nivinskus, of Ramona, died of apparent gunshot wounds Sunday just after 8:30 p.m., investigators said. (KGTV) — Ramona Unified School District is alerting parents of what they called a "suspicious" incident at a local elementary school Friday.In a letter home to families, Barnett Elementary School Principal Linda Marthis said a kindergarten student reported the incident took place at the campus' upper playground in front of the school.Marthis did not elaborate on the incident. PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- A Charlotte County deputy was forced to use his firearm to defend himself from charging dogs during a call Thursday morning.According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the deputy responded to a call from a resident who was afraid to exit his truck due to three loose and aggressive pit bulls in his yard.The deputy arrived to observe the dogs, described as approximately 100 pounds each, leaving the man's yard and chasing chickens in the next yard.As the deputy was speaking to the resident, the dogs returned and began to charge the men, forcing the resident back into his truck and chasing the deputy around it.The deputy fired his weapon at two of the dogs before they retreated down the road.Animal Control arrived and took the dogs into custody, giving the injured dogs treatment.They are investigating any possible citations for the owners. 889
