The Los Angeles Police Department says an investigation is underway after a man attacked and robbed three transgender women in Hollywood on Monday.KTLA-TV in Los Angeles said police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.Video of a portion of the assault was widely shared on social media. It shows the suspect assaulting the women and also demanding clothing and jewelry from them.According to the LAPD, the man went up to one of the victims with a metal bar and told her to give him her shoes and bracelet. He then grabbed her hand and walked with her for a short distance before she was able to escape.Later, police say the suspect attacked one of the woman's friends with a bottle, knocking her to the ground.The suspect also allegedly made derogatory remarks about the victims' sexual identity during the attack.LAPD shared a photo of the suspect in the hopes of tracking him down. 902

The Navy’s newest, most high-tech nuclear submarines use at least one piece of technology that millions of children use every day — a video game controller.According to The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Virginia, the Navy is replacing traditional periscopes on its Virginia-class nuclear submarines with high resolution cameras that will be controlled with Xbox 360 controllers.According to the Virginian-Pilot, the cameras were originally designed to be controlled with a “helicopter-style” joystick. That design was quickly dropped after officials got feedback from a group of Navy junior officers.Lt. j.g. Kyle Leonard, the assistant weapons officer on the USS John Warner — one of the Virginia-class submarines based in Norfolk — told the Virginian-Pilot that many sailors found the joystick clunky to hold and hard to use.The solution? Integrate a tool that nearly every American kid uses on a daily basis.According to WRC-TV, the controllers are more than just functional. The killing of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Saudi Arabia's Istanbul consulate was premeditated, the country's attorney general said Thursday.According to the statement posted by the Saudi state news agency, the latest evolution in the official version of events surrounding Khashoggi's death came after new information was received from Turkish investigators."The public prosecution received information from the Turkish side through the Joint Working Group between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Turkish Republic, indicating that the suspects in Khashoggi's case premeditated their crime," Attorney General Shaikh Suood bin Abdullah Al Mo'jab said."The public prosecution continues its investigations with the accused in accordance with the latest investigation results to reach the facts, God willing, and complete the course of justice."The development comes as CIA director Gina Haspel is set to brief US President Donald Trump on the investigation into Khashoggi's death.Haspel traveled to Turkey on Monday, apparently to assess information the Turks have collected on Khashoggi's killing inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul. The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Haspel listened to audio purportedly of his interrogation and murder while she was in Turkey.
