SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man was rescued from the top of a section of the border wall in Otay Mesa Tuesday.Cal Fire firefighters were called to a section of barrier in Otay Mesa just before 6 a.m. Crews arrived to find one person stuck on top of the border wall structure.Crews used a 35-foot ladder to reach the man and assist him down. No injuries were reported.Tuesday's rescue comes more than a month after San Diego Fire-Rescue firefighters and Border Patrol agents helped rescue three people stuck on top of a portion of the border wall in Otay Mesa. 560

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A lawsuit was filed on Monday in San Diego County Superior Court against the County of San Diego, Registrar of Voters and other entities related to the ongoing battle over the future of the Julian volunteer fire department. Attorney and mayoral candidate Cory Briggs filed the suit and told 10News that the claim is that a group of former volunteer fire department board members made the decision to dissolve the department in secret meetings, and the County allegedly let it happen. For the past two years, locals have been in a contentious battle over the future of San Diego County's last all-volunteer fire department. Many residents believe the County should take over the department because it has more resources and money.Opponents don't trust the County and think that the department's volunteers can do a better job on their own. This morning, an independent regulatory agency conducted a final vote in favor of dissolving the department. A hearing on this new lawsuit is scheduled for Wednesday morning. 1041

According to officials with the base, the individual is currently in quarantine in accordance with the CDC guidelines at his home. "Personnel that the individual had close contact with have been notified and are in self-isolation at their residence," officials say. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man attempting to kill weeds set his house on fire in San Diego Sunday, according to firefighters.The fire happened just before 11 a.m. on the 4500 block of Clairemont Avenue. The man was trying to use a hand-held propane torch to kill the weeds in a planter box in front of his property when the plants caught fire.Shortly after the plants caught fire, the flames spread to the rest of the house.Firefighters arrived quickly and were able to extinguish the flames in about five minutes.Authorities estimate there is about ,000 in damage to the house.No one was injured. 613
