FRANKFURT, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- China hopes for early resumption of the international talks on Iranian nuclear issue, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei said in Frankfurt on Wednesday.     He made the remarks when he attended the six-nation meeting on the Iranian nuclear issue in Frankfurt. Vice foreign ministers from UN Security Council's five permanent members -- the United States, China, Russia, Britain and France, plus Germany met in Frankfurt on Wednesday, aiming to explore the solutions to tackle the thorny issue one day after Tehran said it would table a new package of proposals on the issue.     China welcomes Iran's "positive remarks" on seeking dialogue and negotiation on the nuclear issue, He was quoted as saying by a press release issued by the Chinese delegation, adding that China also appreciates the progress of the cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).     Last week, the IAEA, a UN nuclear watchdog, issued a report saying Iran has slowed production of enriched uranium and agreed to tighter monitoring of its enrichment plant.     The Chinese vice minister said China hopes that various sides to take advantage of the current favorable chances and to exert more diplomatic efforts to resume the international talks on the issue as soon as possible, so as to seek a comprehensive and long-term solution for the issue.     According to Chinese diplomats, Mr. He also met his Russian and U.S. counterparts Sergy Ryabkov and Nicholas Burns at the intervals of the meeting, exchanging views on the Iranian nuclear issue and other international issues of common concern.

XI'AN, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Serbian President Boris Tadic on Saturday arrived in the ancient capital Xi'an in northwest China, continuing his week-long visit to the country.     Tadic visited some well-known historic sites in the city, including Emperor Qin Shihuang's Mausoleum and the Terra-cotta Warriors.     The president hailed "Terra-cotta Warriors" as unique, saying those warriors demonstrated Chinese' delicate craftsmanship dating back more than 2000 years.     "They are so well-preserved, thus Serbia should work with China on the protection of cultural relics," Tadic said. BEIJING, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on Saturday called for serious study and implementation of a decision of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee on strengthening and improving Party building.     The decision was adopted in mid-October at the fourth session of the 17th CPC Central Committee.     The essence of the session must be implemented in an all-out, steadfast and efficient way, said Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, while delivering a report to 1,800attendants at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.     The six pieces of experience summarized in the document are an embodiment of the endeavors of several generations of Chinese Communists in the 60 years of ruling of the Party, and are a treasure of the Party, said Xi, also president of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.     The decision is focused on major issues regarding Party building, which are strategic, fundamental and urgent, he said, adding it is a major task for Party organizations of all levels to study and implement the essence of the session under the current new situation.     Central and local Party schools are a major place to train and foster Party members, leading officials and theorists, as well as study Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and the socialist theoretical system with China's characteristics, Xi said.

BEIJING, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese leaders on Sunday attended a concert of a renowned Chinese singer to commemorate the 70th anniversary of her participation into the country's revolutionary artistic cause.     Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun and He Guoqiang, all members of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, attended the concert performed by Wang Kun and her students.     Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao sent a congratulatory letter to the show, which was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.     Wang Kun, born in 1925, was the protagonist in the opera of the White-Haired Girl, a household legend describing the sufferings by local farmers under the exploitation of landlords before 1949.
