While negotiations continue between Megyn Kelly and NBC, the network announced on Friday that her 9 a.m. talk show has been canceled."Megyn Kelly Today is not returning," the network said in a statement. "Next week, the 9 a.m. hour will be hosted by other 'Today' co-anchors."Her exit from NBC News is not official yet. But it will be soon. Wildlife biologists with the Conservancy of Southwest Florida shared a shocking python find in Collier-Seminole State Forest on Thursday. An invasive Burmese python's eyes were a little bigger than its stomach when it decided to devour a white-tailed deer fawn. Officials say pythons have been known to kill and ingest large prey and this was a record breaking meal.  Officials stumbled upon the python with the massive prey inside. The biologists removed the python out of the wild into an open area and the python was stressed so it pushed the deer out of its mouth. In the photo below you can see the breathing tube and tongue of the python as it has its mouth wrapped around the deer. Biologists believe it is the largest python-to-prey ratio documented. The python was 31.5 pounds and the deer was 35 pounds; 111% of the python's mass. The findings will be published in the March 2018 issue of the Herpetological Review.“This observation is another important piece of evidence for the negative impact invasive Burmese pythons are having on native wildlife across the Greater Everglades Ecosystem” said Ian Bartoszek, Conservancy of Southwest Florida wildlife biologist. “Imagine the potential consequences to the state and federally protected Florida panther if Burmese pythons adversely affect the number of white-tailed deer, a panther’s primary prey.”Biologists are focused on the impact the python is having across the food chain. Since 2013, the Conservancy and its research partners have been conducting research to document the invasive Burmese python's biology and behavior in Collier County, including the tracking, removal and necropsy of captured pythons.Kelly Bazzle is the Digital Executive Producer at Scripps Station WFTS. WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — If dedication to a passion distinguishes a champion from a crowd, Marlys Halbeisen just might be the one who stands out.“Nothing would be anything without her,” said Tamera Halbeisen, Marlys' daughter-in-law.“They’re not just getting a card, they’re getting a message from us saying – ‘We care about you,’” Marlys Halbeisen said.For the past three years, Marlys has transformed her Wheat Ridge home into a smaller version of Santa’s workshop for a cause near and dear to her heart.“My husband was in the military,” Marlys said. “He served in the Korean War.”In 2018, she personalized 2,700 Christmas cards for troops overseas.Last year, she did 18,000. And this year — an astounding 40,000.“The pandemic was good,” Marlys said, laughing. “I couldn’t go anywhere, so I just worked on cards.”KMGH first met Marlys last year, when the company she had lined up to ship the cards simply vanished.In the days that followed, KMGH viewers stepped up and donated so much money to the TV station's fund, that they not only paid for the shipping last year, they were able to pay for the cards and shipping this year, as well.“After visiting three stores, I bought 35,000 cards,” Marlys said.She also received about 5,000 donated cards.“Cards come every day," Marlys said. “Yesterday, I got a bag of cards.”The plan this year was to have multiple card-writing parties. That didn’t happen.“We were going to have everybody for the fun night – write the cards,” Marlys said. “Well, of course, the pandemic prevented that.”And yet, somehow, this 78-year-old would find the silver lining.“It was wonderful,” Marlys said. “I was never bored. Everybody said, ‘Oh, ‘I’m so bored.’ And I go, ‘Well, why don’t you write some cards?’”It’s also been said that one can’t expect everyone to have the same dedication as one does one's self.“Well, you know, I always thought that you find the best help at the end of your arms," Marlys said.And so it was. This one woman show who amazed us last year did it again this year.“Beyond proud,” Tamera said. “I mean, this has just given her even more dedication.”“This does make such a huge difference in a GI’s life,” said James Boxrud, manager with the U.S. Postal Service in Denver. “I remember being overseas at Christmas when I was in the service.
